RTX 2080 - 2080 Ti - 2070 Pricing Revealed

Time for me to upgrade to a 1080Ti from one of you fine folks and call it a day.

It's a no brainer for me, I'll pass on those prices all day long.

There is a huge question mark regarding the performance of a non RTX based game. The hype is strong on this one.

Kyle needs to tell us just what the real world performance difference between a 1080 and a 2080 really is. Forget all this RTX crap, which will be crap on the lower cards no doubt.

Some serious disconnect with reality here.

What are they expecting people to want to do run... tech demos for fun ? lmao

1200 American clams for the top of the line.... at at time when the #1 game anywhere runs well on a phone.

The most popular games today are games like Fortnight, overwatch, Dota, LOL, GTA. I'm sure the 2080 will push all those pixels very well... but seriously there is no need for it. I think Nvidia is going to have a hard time moving tons of them.

Sure some will dish out for them, there are always a few folks with more money then brains. IMO though this launch is very very bad for PC gaming in general. Nvidia just ensured the vast majority of PC gamers stick to older hardware, buying up all the cast off mining cards. Game developers are going to be targeting 4-5 year old cards for the next 2-3 years (which means games targeting 1060 class cards for the next 6-7 years)... unless AMD has something fantastic up its sleave. (I'm a AMD fan clearly but... I don't believe they have a 2080 killer, their vega shrink if we are lucky will land in between 1080/2080 for sane $)

I normally cannot afford top tier cards, so on current get I was able to get the 1070 just about. With the pricing on this generation, I couldn't afford any one of them

I now have a 1080Ti and it'll be doing me for quite a while I think

With this announcement, the cheaper prices on previous gen cards we've seen recently will vanish from fs/ft. No reason to sell at much less than msrp of the old cards now, as the next generation is priced so insanely. Was hoping to upgrade the spare pc but now I just won't do anything.

This is probably their way of selling all of their overstock of the 1080s. lots of people will go buy 1080tis for 600-700 now on newegg. then once they are all gone, nvidia will screw all those people and drop the 2080ti price.

2070 would of cost you less and be faster.

very pricey...was hoping you all would be on board and would sell me a used 1080 for a decent price...

I wouldn't count on it.... when the 1080tis and 1070s are sold out. They will release a 2060 and 2050.

This is what happens when a greedy company feels they have a monopoly.

Our only hope now is that a Die shrunk Vega is impressive enough to push pricing down. Otherwise we are waiting a couple years for Intel.

Reflections...inside Reflections...inside Reflections. I am sure the technology is amazing, and probably what is needed for eventual photo realistic rendering, but to me it seems more Michael Bay hyper effects. It is like the Unreal engine and their over use of reflections off of metallic surface. "Guys, make sure every level it is raining so there are tons of puddles and wet armor/cars/tanks/roads". I would rather my video card have the ability to render an entire forest/mountain scene down to the leaf in a two mile radius than this stuff. Or a full city with interiors rendered through all the high rise offices.

Jensen had a slide up toward the end of the presentation that said;

RTX 2800Ti - $1000USD
RTX 2800 - $699.99USD
RTX 2700 - $499.99USD

So the prices that caused up a stir in this thread were wrong.

I paid $700 for my founders Edition GTX 1080, and the GTX 1080 Ti came out for more than $1000 at launch if I'm not mistaken. Seems like the prices are holding still or slightly dropping for the cards. I can't wait for the reviews.

Too expensive. They just placed the RTX above of the GTX in pricing and called it a day.
Those GTX cards will sell quickly once the price drop kicks in next month.

I'm pretty sure I just saw Kyle post his order confirmation at $1200 each for 2 2080tis

To clarify for people, the earlier prices were correct, for FOUNDERS EDITION cards.

PCPer has the slides up:

Just lol at 499 for a 2070 custom aib card though. Given past history, the better cooled cards will be $530-550 or higher depending on supply/demand.

I'll buy one of these eventually but when they do one with an AiO or some other quieter cooler. I'm in no rush as my 980 renders everything I play at max detail.

I’m going on almost two years with my Titan Xp , if the 2080ti is even 20% faster in game I play now at 4K I’ll immediately grab one and pass this down to my kids who’s using my Titan from before that. I’m fine with two year use for my main hobby and with the 9900k due out oct’ish this fits perfectly for my new gaming build.

Lack of competition is really showing here.

My 1080ti FTW3 was $780 new. So, somewhere between 25%-50% price increase? The Ti needs to have similar increases in performance for me to have any interest in upgrading at a similar price points. At these prices, I'm looking for a 75%-100% performance increase.

I'll wait to see the full reviews and AIB street prices, but, I can't think of a single reason to upgrade my fleet of 10 series cards based on this info alone.

As a matter of fact, I may pick up another cheap used 1070/ti or 1080/ti liquid cooled to finally replace the 970 currently on the SR2.

So with the 9/20 date in mind - when are we going to see performance figures? The day of the hard launch (9/20), or say a week earlier (9/13)?

Ha ha ha

Thx no
1260€ for a founder ti
But hey I could get 2 Vegas then

I wonder how Raytracing does on the RTX, just because it has doenst mean its 60fps in 4k

You are right, but for a 40+ guy like me who cringes at the sight of fortnite and wants to get his 4K gaming on the RTX 2080ti fits the bill. My two gtx 1080 cards failed at real 4K. I'll finally get some decent FPS at that resolution now with everything cranked up.

Hopefully that is the case. Kyle has his order placed... for that many smackers I would wait to see his take on actual hardware before you pull the trigger. For that much coin you could also lay out for thread ripper or some other insane bit of hardware that may be a better bang for your buck.

Wow. From $330 with the 970, to ~$450 with the 1070, to $600 with the 2070. Looks like 1440P PC gaming is getting pretty expensive.

Honestly, I suppose my 1070 is pretty good still. I certainly won't be upgrading my monitor above 1440. Perhaps I may not upgrade this gen.

it would be great to launch a hashtag , #just1generation , for ppl buying low to high end GTX 50-60-70-80 to just switch to AMD for just 1 generation, just slap nvidia in the face and give AD more money to comeback with a better competing line up next gen, to finaly have competition in discret gpu market, all it would take is #just1generation.
nothing to lose, everything to gain, just need ppl to understand what's best for them in the long run.
beh who am i kidding just buy 10 series on discount, with some luck 30series will reach 3000$.

To think that a 104 part used to cost around $200-250 not too long ago...

Also, why the $200 premium for the FE part?

Yes but by then nvidia will have their deliberate drought/shortage so that the 2nd wave milking will be a true success. If it's not so great I should have no problem flogging off my preordered card for at least what I paid for it. XD

I've seen this exact same shortage bullshit happen all the way from 880gtx to date lol. This is nvidia we're talking about. With no competition they can f@ck around all they want.
