Ohhhhhh jeez... Unreal Engine 4 now has DXR support (or will shortly). I expect Unity and others will follow.

Holy crap... "7x boost in shading performance"? The info can't come fast enough. "Fully redesigned SM's".

3000 payments /12=250 years?

SOLD! I'll let my great-great-great grandchildren finish off that financing agreement for my estate so that I can play Crysis today (assuming it will, in fact, run Crysis).

Did this guy actually practice this? Clearly he has no one that tells him "no, that is a terrible idea."

So what are the raw improvements on games that don't use RTX? I'm more interested in those numbers for VR. Will it be at least a year till RTX really starts showing up in large numbers of games?

So did anyone get review samples of these cards or is it more "the more you buy the more you save!" nonsense?

I can't help it... have to say it.... we need a new way to measure, and measure that AMD or Intel can never measure up... we call it shady, shady nVidia... lol

Super curious if the 2080ti is the actual x80ti or if they are doing more shady branding slight of hand.

Eh the way he is talking sounds like they are not going to be using the old fashioned FPS and Frame time averages for comparisons anymore.

He said 1.5x on shading so 50% on normal games generally?

In other words don’t judge us using your ancient benchmarks anymore, it’s not that impressive of a jump.

Looking like BF5 will support raytracing too, now, not just Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Metro Exodus. Their product page on the UK site has a little slider comparison thingie.

Its going to be great, so great, we are all going to be sick of being so great... That RTX Off vs On - he's trying so hard to get the crowd to approve

Some of you guys are old enough to remember the 1990s - as soon as any particular effect became accessible (looking at you "Morphing") you started to see it EVERYWHERE. People literally wrote commercials and TV shows around effects.

The ray tracing is cool, but I have this sense that it's going to be this massive distorting force in the gaming market that makes people rush to incorporate "Ray Tracing RTX (TM)" into literally everything - game play and good sense be damned.

That said, an RTX based live desktop could be intriguing...
