Sure they will, I am not disputing that - I just wonder how long it takes before its baked in from the beginning of the game development - and not added as an afterthought..

I mean.. VXAO - how many titles have that..? the only one I can think of is rise of the tombraider.. - and it dosent make the game magically any better..it just looks marginally better (imho)

and dont get me started on PhysX - the last title using it was... I can't remember.. I am of course talking about GPU PhysX.

anyways.. i'll wait for the software before buying the hardware, chances are that I will be able to get newer/better/cheaper hardware - before the must-buy triple-a title arrives..

but that's just my 2cents

If those specs are true, the 2080 ti will be staggeringly faster than the 2080, moreso than any "ti" jump previously. The issue is, I have a strong suspicion the price will be commensurate++. I'm guessing $700 for 2080, $1000+ for the 2080 ti. Sucks since nV is basically only offering a 4k solution for >$1000 it sounds since the 2080 will only have 8GB VRAM. GTX 1080 ti sounds better and better for us 4k-ers.

I'm in for a Titan or 2080Ti, whatever comes first. Been having the upgrade itch since the Titan V came out. Though I was hoping for more vram than 11 or 12gb.
 
We have first pictures of upcoming custom GeForce RTX graphics card from MSI.

MSI’s GAMING X TRIO is a triple-fan design with fancy (and obligatory at this point) RGB lighting. The backplate is silver (brushed aluminum?).

The card features the new Type-C VirtualLink connector and NVLink. NVIDIA abandoned SLI connector for the RTX series.

The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GAMING X TRIO is equipped with dual 8-pin power connectors.

More custom cards will be unveiled on Monday. We have more pictures to share soon. Stay tuned.

Great news for us gamers if they release the whole Turing product stack in one week! My guess is $699 for 2080 and $1200 for 2080 Ti, which effectively replaces the "gaming Titan" niche.
 
If they do a ti immediately, I have a few hundred bucks in gift cards burning a hole in my pocket.
 
I hope they do a ti.... I don’t see why they’re holding off if it’s the same die hat they’re using.

I hear you, but highly unlikely I think. If you recall, the 1080 ti was turning up in benchmarks and product listings before the 1080 was released and people thought the same -- then 1080 ti can 5 months later. Also, releasing 2080 ti alongside 2080 effectively ruins NVidia's product segmentation and release timing strategy to milk more from the early adopter teat.
 
Lots of info dumps today.

What we know: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti packs 11GB and 352-bit memory (just as GTX 1080 Ti). What is new is the GDDR6 memory clocked at 14 Gbps. This increased the maximum theoretical bandwidth to 616 Gb/s (that’s 132 Gb/s more).

We can confirm that GeForce RTX 2080 Ti features 4352 CUDA cores, that’s fewer than Quadro RTX 6000/8000, which both feature 4608 unified shaders.

The GeForce RTX 2080 is an 8GB 256-bit model. It is equipped with 2944 CUDA cores, not 3072 as previously speculated. This means GeForce RTX 2080 lost 128 CUDA cores from TU104 GPU compared to Quadro RTX 5000.

We also have clocks and TDP values, but since the origin of the data may suggest these are non-reference models, we will release this information later.

Assuming the 2080 is 10% faster than the 1080 Ti, those sp counts put the 2080 Ti about 50% above the 1080 Ti.
It smells like a $1k GPU frankly.

The 2080/Ti sp disparity is actually 47% compared to the 1080/Ti at 40%, an increase of 17.5%.

Reports are saying these might be up for pre-order on Monday. I'm stuck in a meeting all day so I really, really hope that isn't the case :p

I'm thinking $799 is probably what we're going to be looking at. I think they'd lose too many sales if they break the $1k barrier on what is technically still in their consumer/gaming lineup. People thought the 1080ti was going to be $1k as well, and it ended up being $699. Then again, it's nvidia, so they might just be brazen enough to try a $1k price point.

I'm expecting something closer to $600 - $700 for the 2080 and $1000 - $1200 for Ti. :(

Can this week go by any slower!?

Like I said, people assumed the 1080ti was going to be close to $1k, too. It ended up being way less than everyone assumed. I'm honestly not going to be surprised either way.

I'm betting on 500 to 550 for the 2080, and 700 to 750 for the 2080 ti. They would price themselves out of the market going for 1200...

Where on there did you find this? I can't. EDIT: it's been taken down. Lists boost as 1545 meaning 1700 or more out of the box. It claims a 285w tdp? And sli via nV link ?

Sounds like marketing speak for 6x the ray-tracing performance. Either that or their comparing it to a 1050 or something lol.

Could be a placeholder...but it is also a custom OC'ed card from PNY.
 
I’m surprised but really happy if nVidia indeed releases the 2080 TI from the start, that would be an awesome move!

If they want the ray tracing tech to gain tracking as soon as possible, I guess they would want the fastest card out there from the start. Those RTX Quadros are obviously too expensive.

One thing to keep in mind though: the 2080 TI might only be for pre-order now with a later launch date since the RTX Quadros aren’t shipping before Q4. On the other hand: The RTX GeForce cards might be the cards that doesn’t cut the binned spec of all cores working for the Quadro RTX 8000 and RTX 6000. Thoughts?
 
I want the 2080Ti version of the EVGA pictured above.

So no Reference/FE's this time around, or we just haven't seen any leaked pics of those yet?

Some of us here totally called it on the nose: $800 for the 2080, $1000 for the 2080 ti. Those prices are batshit insane, especially considering the only real 4k option will be 2080 ti.

nVidia is asking $800 for their cut-down chip. Just let that settle in for a second.

If you kids thought lack of competition was killing our hobby last gen, this is a railroad spike-size nail in the coffin.
 
My problem is even if it’s double the speed of a 1080ti I have very little reason to upgrade to it besides my current rig taking a dump.... feels like we’re in diminishing returns area visually. Maybe ray tracing will change that.
