NVIDIA already have dozens upon dozens of titles that use GameWorks effects like PhysX, HFTS, VXAO, HBAO+, PCSS+, TXAA, Hair, Wave and Turf effects. Also Ansel. they will simply add Ray Traced AO/Shadows/Reflections to this vast library of effects. And games will use it.
Sure they will, I am not disputing that - I just wonder how long it takes before its baked in from the beginning of the game development - and not added as an afterthought..
I mean.. VXAO - how many titles have that..? the only one I can think of is rise of the tombraider.. - and it dosent make the game magically any better..it just looks marginally better (imho)
and dont get me started on PhysX - the last title using it was... I can't remember.. I am of course talking about GPU PhysX.
anyways.. i'll wait for the software before buying the hardware, chances are that I will be able to get newer/better/cheaper hardware - before the must-buy triple-a title arrives..
but that's just my 2cents
