I think thats from the closed beta at the end of june. weird he would post it now. gotta wait till sept for the next one.
i steamed the closed alpha too on twitch. thought maybe I could get a following. there wasn't many streaming it and I had only 1 or 2 viewers at a time. my first time streaming and likely my last lol. It's from the closed alpha, you can see it in the top right.
That's Because it's a fantasy/ revisionist history thing. not really a real authentic take on WWII.I hope come the beta the game will have more of a ww2 look and feel, to be honest, the alpha really felt like random people running around with ww2 era weapons. BF1 at least had the look of WW1 down really well with the uniforms etc, BFv so far is really lacking in that respect.

yes that's another thing i meant to mention that yes they're all vidogames but despite the weapon thing bf1 was way obove "V" as far as any authenicty goes.Bf1 was in the same mold, the vast majority of weapons in it didn't even exist or were in experimental stages during ww1. Didn't stop them getting the uniforms correct. I know they're focusing on customisation etc but i'm hoping it won't be to the extent it doesn't look like ww2 at all.

No, same build as the previous alpha with only gun stat changes.hopefully with a new map
Hello Battlefield V Closed Alpha players!
(..)
n the first Closed Alpha one of our main goals was to get an idea of how fast players scored points, and the time it took them to level up through the ranks. Based upon this, we have done some changes that we think will better cater to players across all playstyles and skill levels. We have also made improvements to matchmaking and fixed issues related to the squad join functionality. We hope that these changes will get you and your squad faster into the Battlefield.
Additionally, we have done some tweaks to the damage models of the weapons when it comes to minimum/max damage, damage fall off, and headshot multipliers. This is done to give a more individual character to each weapon and pushing them to excel in those combat scenarios that they are intended for.
(..)
This Closed Alpha #2 build is directly built upon from the first Closed Alpha build and it will not contain any changes besides what we have mentioned above.
(..)
All of the players that have a valid Battlefield V Closed Alpha entitlement from the first Closed Alpha on Origin are automatically invited back into the Closed Alpha #2. You simply need to reinstall it when it becomes available in the Origin client.

Battlefield V - Closed Alpha #2 - Starting on the 14th of August
I hope its still fast ttk from short and med range, buff the other weapons though so they can compete with it.*sigh*
In the previous alpha just about every fucker was running about with assault as the STG done major damage from virtually any range. Be interesting to see what, if anything has changed in that respect.

Played a little last night. Maybe it's the map/uniforms, but doesn't feel much like a WW2 game to me. By contrast, I felt BF1 totally nailed the WW1 feel. Graphics don't look as good as BF1 to me either, although it's alpha, etc.
That's the general consensus i've seen repeatedly, that it lacks the look and feel of a ww2 game. It's getting hammered quite hard in the feedback forum on the battlefield site as well.
Just to play devil's advocate, what is WW2 supposed to "feel like", then? Be in black & white, with a History channel logo in the corner? That's the general consensus i've seen repeatedly, that it lacks the look and feel of a ww2 game. And maybe that was to BF1's detriment. And maybe DICE realized that.I felt BF1 totally nailed the WW1 feel. Graphics don't look as good as BF1 to me either, although it's alpha, etc.

FWIW I don't even really see uniforms because the action is so frantic - they're normally just a blur.
maybe battlefield players are smart? theres no reason to pre order a game. there was a reason 10 years ago when you had to get a physical copy and pre ordering is how you reserved it.pre-order sales of Battlefield V have been weak...
pre-order sales of Battlefield V have been weak...
In an interview with Gamasutra, EA chief creative officer Patrick Söderlund says that the developer is uninterested in taking flak for diversifying the gaming space. “We stand up for the cause, because I think those people who don’t understand it, well, you have two choices: either accept it or don’t buy the game,” he says. “I’m fine with either
is this about them putting women in the game? how many people are not gonna buy it cause they put women in? there will be some old guys who care, but the majority of players i dont think care. if theres a reason pre order sales are bad its because the marketing has been terrible since the iconic maps come with later dlc.Seems like people took his advice.

BF1 is two years oldor maybe the yearly release cycle has finally caught up to the game and people are tired of the same game reskinned every year...
this isn't the cod thread, lol. bf1 wasn't a reskin of bf4. and bfv feels different than bf1 so.or maybe the yearly release cycle has finally caught up to the game and people are tired of the same game reskinned every year...

And BFV is quite a bit different

BF4 was a reskin of BF3, and BFV definitely looks like a reskin of BF1. The reality is that there is very little in the way of innovation between these games.
Bit hard to innovate when it's focused on ww1 and ww2. More future styled games are more open to that.
Oh they did innovate... They found innovative new ways to add microtransactions, and I'm sure they've dreamed up an innovative new way to ensure no one ever gets a custom server with hardcore rules running and populated. BF1 sucked hard, BFV looks like they took the worst parts of BF1, removed the tiny shred of accuracy that remained, and then mixed it with loot boxes. My initial guess that the trailer was an attempt to hide the stench of trashfire with the righteous indignation of the SJW crowd towards any criticism of the design and gameplay is looking more and more likely.Bit hard to innovate when it's focused on ww1 and ww2.
