Video games that screwed you up physically?

Broke my leg playing Forza Horizon 3 - sprained ankle, broken phalange, and a subdermal hematoma.

The Turing Test is the only game that ever made me sick to the point I can't play it. Starcraft 2 and Dota 2 both give me pain in my wrists, but haven't played either in years. I had an injury with an air hammer about 15yrs ago that may be the cause for wrist pain.

Did anyone mention 1080 snowboarding on n64?

This is a test. This is only a test...

ADR1FT on VR took me a good hour or so to get used to. That has been the only disorienting game for me in VR. Left me with a feelin of vertigo even when I’d stop playing.

More conventionally, the Froza series used to give me hand cramps when using the controller because, evidently, I’d grip the controller with such an awkward stiff hand that my fingers would eventually cramp. Eventually I got used to this as well as it was mostly caused by my lack of experience with the “manual /w clutch” setting.

I was giggling at this thread, but then I remembered a single game that made me physically ill. I don't get motion sickness from games, or really in general, but the Wii game Elebits made me want to puke after about 5 minutes of play. I tried multiple times to play it too, because it was kind of cool. I don't know what it is specifically about that game. I've played games with all kinds of FOVs, no problem. I've played games with various types of motion, tons of effects, fast and slow paced, and nothing. No problems. Elebits though. :hungover:

Playing Windlands in VR really made my ankles hurt from trying to steady myself. I do not like heights at all. I could only play for a few minutes each time at first.
I soon had no problem playing for 30m to an hr. I also am not as afraid of heights.

I shot myself with a 9mm in the head after playing Alien Colonial Marines. Now I have truble maytaynnnn thots fur uhhhrrrrmmmmmmmmsmsmmsmsmsm

Oh hey why am I on hardforum right now?

I get some motion sickness from the headbobbing in half life 2
It must've been the screen I was using at the time, or lag (I played the game previously on another setup and had no issue) but this was my only experience getting a sick feeling with any game, dating back to the 80s... of course, I expect VR to make me sick but I've yet to give it a go

Planescape Torment was so good I got cold but didn't stop playing to put on warmer clothes. Then when I finally closed it reality sunk in and I would have to warm up under a wool blanket or something.

Doom 2, the textures scrolling acrossed walls and pillars at the diagonal, motion sickness.

The head/rifle bob thing can do it, Deus Ex was bad to me, sick to the stomach again.

Diablo 2 but that was more my fault. It seems that if I play it too long, I'll have a dream where I am locked in a struggle to the death, facing certain doom, no chance of escape ......... but I don't ever actually get killed, it just keeps going.

This of course is follow by coming to full wakefulness, getting some coffee and playing more D2 because I sure can't sleep now can I? :D
