Portal: After Hours Episode 1 Is the first of two mods for the Portal 2 game that seek to tell the story of what happened during the time period between the events of Portal 1 and Portal 2. A one man development team is bringing the title to life and has intentions of combining both episodes into a separate title on Steam, but will keep it free.

Portal: After Hours is a full length single player campaign set in-between the events of the first and second Portal games. The first half is planned for workshop release on August 15th, 2018! Join for more info or questions: https:/ /discord.gg/G2ArYd9

Why should they bother? All they have to do is manage the software to for games developed by other studios and deal with transactions. They make a fortune with a lot less risk that can be associated with making a AAA game.

Now will this mod be aggrivating by means of getting unreasonably difficult too quickly, like other mods?
 
Why?

Because that's what their original fan base wants. Do we really need a better reason than that? No.

I would like valve to give me a million dollars because thats what I want. Doesn't mean they will give it to me.

Valve could care less what you want, they care about what makes them money the quickest and easiest way.

At this point it doesn't even matter the majority of the HL team is gone and doubt valve will pony up the cash to bring them back. HL3 will never come out. Get over it and move on. Even if they do it will not be what people expected and rip it apart.
 
There is a bunch of maps/puzzles you can download in the workshop for Portal2, playtime is basically endless, just without the storyline jokes.

And I wish Valve at least sold the IP to a different company, so somebody else would make HL3, but they would still get paid. Overall Valve is a very inefficient company, and if they were public, they would not be run this way.
 
I thought valve revently announced that they would be developing games again? I'll check for a source when I get to a pc. Or was i dreaming?

No they are like a card game based on DOTA.... "Artifact" And VR titles and a "singel player game"...

I do wonder if they have "IT" to make good games still though, a lot of big talent has quit from the time of "big games" and there's rumors about their company culture that doesn't sound great...
