Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher have reprise their roles in the Star Wars universe for the upcoming film. Star Wars Episode IX will feature Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian and the late Carrie Fisher will star as Leia Organa using unreleased footage intended for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'. Emotions will surely run high as this is the last installment of the Luke Skywalker saga and of course Mark Hamill will reprise his role as the Jedi.

"Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character," director J.J. Abrams said in a statement. "With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie's legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII."

Damn. I was hoping for Jeff Dunham and a bunch of racist puppets.

Hopefully the Xenomorphs find those evil rebels and use them for incubators.

Don't really care for the idea of using folks post mortem in flicks. Something just not right.

I wish I could say I won't pay to see this in the theaters, but Ill probably go anyways.

There's rarely anything else good in theatres when SW films drop. Releases tend to be scheduled around it.

I don't like CGI. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like here. [H]ere everything is soft and smooth.

(and yet, [H]ard, like Anakin's "lightsaber", anytime he was around Padme).. yes I know... tis a silly and immature thought....

I can't wait to not see this one, just like the last one.

Except the explosions wake me up. I actually told my wife to turn it down in the theatre I was in such a stupor.

I admit I'm curious. I can see pro's and con's for all the disney-wars so far. Haven't seen Solo yet, waiting for disc. Haven't gone to the theater for any of 'em either. Movie comes out Dec. 2019, guess I'll see it spring 2020. I'm not nearly as polarized as most for these but I will say Rogue One was my favorite so far.

Clicked on this thread to say... Well at least we won't have to endure Mark Hamill's piss poor acting.

Leaving disappointed.

He makes a great voice actor. He's going to be the troll voice in Rey's ears, since deceased Jedi are great at correcting their less wise living counterparts. Some creativity has the potential to make things work out great for his interactions.

What about Supreme Leader..........

The trolling is sad. Find something better to do than shit on a decent series of kids movies.

Like I've said for a while now, the OT is a perfect hero's journey. It's not possible to build on that in a way everyone will enjoy. So far I really like the ties to KOTOR and what they did with Luke/Rey/Ren. The resistance/Leia side of the story has some issues.

I'm expecting them to go full KOTOR in IX, with a First Order version of the Star Forge and/or Kylo Ren trying to kill the Force. We'll see.

so un-used footage from Force Awakens for Carrie Fisher...I guess it's better then CGI Tarkin (even though I thought that looked pretty impressive)...I guess they didn't want to kill her off-screen...hopefully they reverse the horrible way Luke died and bring him back (although bringing him back jut to kill him off again would be silly)

I don't trust these writers to give Lando a proper re-introduction but it'll be nice to see him again

Silly and immature like the movie.

I remember looking at the clock on the bluray player half way through TFA, amazed I still had an hour to go. RogueOne was rough in the first half and picked up in the second. I was more critical of it than TFA at first but its grown to meh, okay status where TFA just fell apart for me the more I thought about it. I haven't seen the latest two. They sure brought Last Jedi to Netflix streaming quickly though, same as RogueOne.
