GTX 1080 owners who want a consistent 60 FPS experience in Capcom’s Monster Hunter World at 1440p are out of luck unless they turn down their graphical settings: according to a Resetera member, that GPU will see dips to 44 to 50 FPS if the highest preset is chosen. The graphics aren’t a massive upgrade over the console version, so many are calling this another lazy port.

Do note the numbers appear to be minimum framerates, as the user provided a comparison between the highest settings with and without Volume Rendering Quality, and the game was running at 78 FPS. Still, it’s pretty obvious that PC gamers will need a GTX1080Ti in order to play it at 1440p, despite the fact the game’s visuals are similar to those found in the console version.

Not surprised. Gameplay better be top notch to even consider, but from the videos I've seen it seems pretty repetitive.

from the link.. the screen shots look nice, but are from a console, as you can see all the console buttons. but still.. very pretty

The game always runs like garbage on all platforms. It is fun though.

I'm I the only one not surprised in the least that Megalith browses ResetERA, the forum that the worst of NeoGAF created so they could continue being toxic assholes in their own little safespace?

So I've logged something like 500 hours into the PS4 version.

It's a MH game. If you aren't familiar with the genre it's a lot of grinding. A LOT of grinding. If you're the type of person to basically do something and then call it quits then MH:W is not for you.

MH in general is all about tuning and preparing for the hunt. That's loadouts, consumables (though MH:W has made this a lot more casual friendly), strategies, etc. The monster mechanics are usually fixed and it's generally fairly unforgiving. There's no difficulty toggle to make a monster fight easier or harder. There have been plenty of times where I've thrown down my controller in frustration (though it's usually your own fault).

Does it play better on AMD?

Having browsed NeoGAF recently when looking for feedback on the new Mega Man X collection I find it ironic that this says a lot about you after seeing what NeoGAF has become.

44 frames per second at 1440p with a GTX 1080 makes this in the top 5 most demanding games out there yet the visuals are a joke.

I wonder if it will run better on RX Vega ? It could simply be unoptimized Nvidia drivers.

Meogag can't be worse than what it was when I was there. I mean it is physically impossible it was so vile even then.

What about not max settings? I usually lower one setting at a time to find what it is that kills performance...
