Although Justice League underperformed, there seems to be plenty of interest still invested in the DC cinematic universe: case in point, the Aquaman trailer, which WB premiered at their panel during SDCC yesterday and is currently trending #1 on YouTube. While the CG looks like it needs a bit of work, hopes for the film are high, as it is helmed by James Wan of Saw/Conjuring/Insidious fame.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.

This movie looks absolutely terrible.

Another DC flop incoming, i wonder why they just don't quit and try it again in a few years. Their only real success was Wonder woman which followed on the heels of the Ghostbusters drama which sparked the whole women in movies debate. Probably the only reason wonder woman did well was because it got the sympathy vote with it being right in the middle of all that.

Well I guess that's the nail in Jason Mamoas career. The barbarian set him back... but his looks like it will be the end.

Ryan Reynolds survived the Green Lantern - some how. That was probably one of the worst movies I sat through.
But yeah, he already had has Get Out of Jail Card with Conan...

No one is expecting him to be a stage worthy thespian... he was never getting cast as king lear. However at the least action heros have to be able to deliver one liners that don't make the audience uncomfortable. Watching him is like watching your kid flubbing through their lines at a school play. It's to painful to see it as comical... and its too comical to see it as serious. Poor Mamoa... I think he is destined to be seen in B grade flicks from here on.

I guess I am in the minority here thinking it looked pretty good. Though I am a pretty big Aquaman fan, so there may be a bias on my part.

looks pretty awful...looks like they're trying to go for that Thor look in terms of creating a fantastical world but it looks cheesy as hell...but Jason Momoa will live forever as Khal Drogo and for that he gets a lifetime pass...the guy has a great 'look' and should be a bigger star

This is why DC sucks.

jason can't carry a movie by himself. I can't see who the fuck would wanna watch this, unless they had a Moviepass.

If you listen closely at the very end, when he jumps out of the plane, the yell he makes sounds like Goofy from Disney.

Could go either way with this. I still don't feel it's as bad as Shazam.

To me that looks like an 80's t.v. movie.

Ya ok I hadn't seen the shazam one.... man DC is so screwed. lol

Personally, I thought the trailer (Aquaman) looked really good, and it made me interested in a film I would otherwise have called a hard pass.

The true Aqua man.

Looks like a Black Panther wannabe in terms of plot. And the CGI is utter garbage for some reason.

I'll be surprised if anyone can top marvel. Looks like they're just making a movie of every DC character. And seeing what sticks

Will Khaleesi make special appearance?

Dude looks good though... has that Triton look, lol

Well I can't say I'm surprised since aquaman was pretty much one of if not the worst hero..but yea that looks terrible.

There are so many frelling superhero moves these days that I have given up watching them all together. They only time I watch is if kids want to watch then on BRD...

Frelling? Did you mean failing? Marvel continues to put out good shows by and large. DC is failing in most aspects, TV and cinema though.

Edit: What's a BRD?

I think it looks pretty good. Shit CGI. But, Jason Mamoa does pretty good in the role. Looks to be a good movie and I'll definitely check it out.

Shazam looks great, too.

looks to be a good movie, some nice humor ...

I'm betting Blu-ray disc.

Well, considering where it is coming from, it could be exactly like that. However, I do like the preview, it was kind of funny and cool.

One thing DC really needs to work on is getting better a better CGI department for their movies. The green lantern was really bad for how it was done. A few parts here had the animated suit vibe to it, 44 seconds in for example while not as bad as green lantern still feels off and doesn't look 100% real. The justice league had the same issue with the main villain not seeming like he really fit in with everyone else on screen with its design, as did dooms day in BvS. Some parts of this trailer had the same feel where some parts didn't mix very well. Some even stood out with it being obvious that everything you were seeing was green screen. However this is early on and they have time to fix that some by then.

Yesterday I noticed that trailer and from the look of that imagine I thought it was some fan made joke trailer. Didn't realize that was the real trailer.
