Destiny 2

I'm getting a little bored again myself. As always, there's very little motivation to do anything beyond the 3-6 "powerful gear" quests each week. The people that have a bunch of characters might have plenty to do, but my character gets about 2 hours of attention per week now. I'd love to grind out the Dead Orbit GL catalyst quest but that only lasted a week.
I don't get why all of the game's events only last a week at a time. How about making them last for a month like they did with Sparrow racing? Speaking of which...why not bring that back?

I'm close to throwing in the towel. I can do Milestones and it just doesn't really seem to matter. Yesterday I did the clan XP and crucible stuff... racked up three milestones... probably about two hours worth in total and when I was done it was like "Why did I bother?" That's increasingly what's been happening. It may be time for me to shut this down until Year 2.
 
I really like the Crucible matches I haven't played one in about 8 months just way too much shooting in this game lack of RPG appeal I mean you can Quest but just not my type of questing plus matchmaking just pissed me off for Raids just like the 1st game plus they made them extra hard for the casuals.

I've grown to enjoy the Crucible, but it's tedious when you end up on a bad team or the opposing (quickplay) team is a coordinated group.
While I've gotten much better since the recent patches, I still enjoyed myself more when SMG's and auto-rifles were much better. Now everything is fought at long distance and it's not like the Vigilance Wing, Better Devils, and Graviton Lance aren't just as good up-close.

Supposedly Year 2 will let you use ANY combination of weapons you want, so hopefully they give the up-close weapons a little bit of a boost. Otherwise it'll be nothing but those 3 weapons for most players.

I'm waiting on a sale for the seasons pass as I seem to have maxed out what gear I can get (which seems to be lower since the last patch) since I can only play it on my backup pc.

Matchmaking is right terrible so is any attempt to join a fireteam. I was trying to group up with another player to finish the rat king quest line using the bungee fireteam finder. He sent me multiple in-game invites which never appeared and I did the same and he never got them. I ended up having to invite him to chat in the blizzard launcher which finally allowed us to invite each other. There is absolutely no reason why grouping up should be so difficult.

Ok I'm I seeing this correctly?

Destiny 2: Forsaken is $80 for the deluxe edition, but requires Destiny 2 and the first 2 expansions to play?

Is this seriously an $80 expansion?

How much is this game if you want everything, $200?!?!?!?!

I think the expansion is $40, the $70 one includes the year 2 season pass and the $80 delux includes some extras like a bow catalyst and ghost shell

So basically if you want all the expansions for this game it's gonna be $70/year if this trend continues.

I'm not saying it's not worth it, the new content I feel is generally pretty good, and if they continue to work on it, adding new content and making the game better I guess it can be justified, still seems kinda crazy.
 
So I finally jumped back into raiding. On a whim (whim=3-4 beers), I fired up the Bungie fireteam finder and after a few headaches connecting with each other the group quickly beat the pools and opened the chest in the castellum. Probably only took 15 minutes or so ... it was so smooth. A few pieces of gear that I was able to use to increase the power level of my current gear WOOT!

I really do enjoy raiding ... it's just too bad that Bungie made it so freaking difficult to team up.

So my struggle trying to get this game to run still continues, so since overwatch was all of a sudden also causing issues, I tried a different GPU which ofc did not help one bit, I went extreme and nuked all my drives.

I did a clean windows install, got all drivers installed, downloaded the game ( to a different drive as b4 just in case)

And again after playing a bit the game crashed again, I'm really out of ideas, short of changing mobo, CPU and RAM (already replaced PSU and tried different GPU). Other then recent issues with overwatch, every other game on my pc runs just fine.

As I already mentioned in previous post, I tried everything I found on the bungie forums to no avail. I also did uninstall the iCue software and rivers from corair and used a different mouse as those could cause issues according to some google fu.

I'll try and add my dxdiag to this in case anyone can figure something out from that.

Overwatch also still crashes, which is strange as it ran fine for the last year on this machine.

It's stupid and inexcusable really. Bush league.

The same concept that exists on strikes and crucible should be available for this and Leviathan as well.
 
What's funny is that their own developers don't seem like they can do much about the raiding issues. In multiple interviews they've stated that with the Fall update they want to have plenty of end game content for players who can't raid...rather than trying to make raiding more approachable. One of these days I'll probably attempt to get into a group, but it doesn't seem like something you can do on a whim. All my friends with the game play it on the Xbox.
 
It's faction rally week again. Grinding to get the Graviton Lance catalyst is tedious as all hell. I want it, but at this rate I don't know if I want to bother. I think I'm at level 11 of 50. We'll probably only get one more shot this season, so I'll need to get to at least 30 to even bother going further. Knowing my luck Dead Orbit won't even win.

I'm guessing the people who hit the grind hard for the Graviton Lance are moving to the Sunshot. The rest of us who didn't get it will just quietly keep doing the Dead Orbit stuff, I guess.

LOL, yup. I have some hardcore friends that play on the Xbox and that's what they're doing. They went all-in for the Graviton and are doing the Sunshot this time.
Those are 2 of my favorite guns, but I'm sticking it out with the GL since it makes me way better at PvP. Well, that and there's no way in hell I'll spend like 15 hours doing both.
I'm hoping and praying that there will be additional opportunities for those catalysts later.

I'm 3 levels away from my graviton lance catalyst now, hope to finish it tonight. Having the full gear set makes a huge difference, between that and doing the grind loop on titan and it went fairly fast. I was getting around 1-2 tokens a minute and got a crap ton of public event drops lol

Man I've had problems with this game crashing since day one on my laptop and desktop. It just seems to effect some people more than others.
 
6 raids in 4 days ... I might have a problem lol. Raiding is clearly the fastest way to increase light levels I have gone up 8-10+ on each of my characters just with raid loot.
 
I barely touched the game this weekend. I think I've just hit the burnout phase. I'll keep doing the weekly low handing fruit quests, but I think I'm done playing more seriously until Year 2. I think I knew I hit a wall when literally every strike pissed me off when it showed up.

I just got this about 2 weeks ago for $20 at Walmart. Just got the first 2 DLC for $20 total today. So far, I like it but it does seem like a game you can bog down in due to grind.

It runs extremely well in NV surround.
 
I play on Xbox One with my brother since we each have weekends off. Therefore, I have not done any raids at ALL. If anyone wants to do some raids, let me know and I will post my Gamertag. Rest assured, I will suck at the raids as like I mentioned, I have never played them. My light level is 363.

I haven't missed it at all the last couple of weeks. Daily Bounties are coming out sometime this month I believe. I'll check those out otherwise I'm done until year 2.

I haven't hopped on since close to launch because of all the weird crashes I was experiencing....

Well, no more crashes! Huzzah

And, in general it runs much better now on "Lucy" than it did at launch.

Anyone still around? I've been playing this game solo on and off since it came out. I took a big break after i completed CoO but I'm back into it every day. Problem is, I really only played solo. I'm a Warlock @ PL 347 and I can't seem to progress.

I've never done a Nightfall or Raid nor can I run Whisper of the Worm without getting rekt once I hit the ads. The jumping puzzle was brutal.

Are there any east coast US players on here still playing looking to group up? Add me:

I’m east coast CDN here. I have been playing very regularly. I took a short break from raiding to do the solstice stuff but now I’m getting back into it. I’m typically on from 7:30/8 to 11ish.

After being offline for a couple weeks, I hopped back on this weekend and was pleased to discover some new stuff to do! Things feel grindy, so I dunno is that exactly what I wanted. It's at least more than my usual 3 strikes, 5 crucible matches, and random events on a random planet. Some of those levels remind me of how good the single player game could have been with more attention to the subsequent planets. Not sure if I'll have time to complete the full armor set, but I suppose I'll try if I have time.

For anyone that has it - is the Whisper of the Worm feasible to attempt solo? I don't want to waste a bunch of time if it's not worth even attempting.
