Logitech G-Pro Mouse $29

I have this mouse for the last 8 months or so. I never really liked the feel of it. It's super light, and feels cheap. No way it feels like a $70 item. I'm not even sure it feels like a $30 mouse.

It tracks well, and the scroll wheel is nice and wide and tactile, but the side buttons are bad. It feels cheap overall. The only thing I really like about it is the tracking. My ~10 year old Intellimouse 3.0 feels much better made.

I recently replaced my Pro with the wireless G603, which I like better, and I should probably have picked up the G703 because G703 adds the rubber texture.

The Pro's not bad for $30, but not a screaming deal either - IMO. That's about all it's worth.

when did placing both side mouse buttons on the same side become fashionable?...what happened to placing one button on each side?

I used it for about a half a year but found it too small length wise.

Hasn't it pretty much (with some exceptions) been the de facto standard since the MX518/G5 rev. 2 days?

Speaking for me personally, buttons on the right side aren't comfortable to use and if a mouse has them I end up not using them. I guess they're good for some people (especially southpaws) though.

is this a good replacement for the G5?

It's a great mouse, different shape though. G5 is larger and palm grip, this is much sleeker and what I'd consider to be claw grip.

Agreed. Can't use right side buttons.

*looks down at MX518 lovingly* - I think I'm good still :)

Picked one up for $38 or so off eBay a few months ago. LOVE IT. It's my daily driver.

No matter what I do I always come back to Logitech mice.

Sadly no. Don't get me wrong, the G Pro has a great sensor, the weight is on point, the quality is solid enough in the short time I've had it and the clicks feel great but its a very different shape from the G5 (much flatter), has fewer buttons(6 vs 9) and feels a little less heavy duty(like I've slammed my old g5 off of desks more times than I can count but feel like the GPro would eventually shatter. Great mouse thus far, its just not a G5 replacement.

Great mouse. I don't like the scroll wheel (too heavy to push down), but outside of that it is great. Maybe two buttons on the side of the mouse wheel would have been nice (for optional volume control ect.).

Personally I don't get all those gaming mice with weights and crazy buttons and weird designs. To me it's like a giant hunk of unsightly plastic.

I love minimal when it comes to mice.

I think my very very VERY first gaming mouse was the Razer Diamondback from ... man, over 10 or 11, 12 years ago? EDIT: I just looked, 2004! I wore that damn mouse out. I literally worse the plastic down to the white meat haha. It was a low profile lite weight ambidextrous mouse.

BTW, this uses the best sensor on the market according to ... everyone else. The 3366 Optical.
