Price aggregator & how long to beat (game name)

These are indeed good resources. One thing to be aware of on IsThereAnyDeal is that they don't always cover all - or even all common vendors. For instance, I've often seen them miss GreenManGaming. However, they are still a great utility. Just be sure to check out all of the other sites directly if need be!

I don't think the time it takes to beat a game is a good indicator of it's worth.

CD Keys is good but lots of games are either sold out or Region locked.
So far everything I got from there was listed as "worldwide".

Couple of things - in the OP I mentioned that I wanted to...

...give myself a place to search links in the future...

...because I typically forget the exact URL, but do eventually find the site again (I have too many bookmarks).

RE: ...a good indicator of it's worth...

I'm glad you brought this up, because I'd love to hear other opinions on this.

I often "judge" if I want to purchase a game by the anticipated game length.

I've already determined the game is in a genre I like & read some ratings by others who enjoy the same genre, etc.

Now it comes down to my personal "value determination" compared to other things I could spend money on...

Basically, I want gameplay @ $1 per 1 hour - ie: $20 game / at least 20 hours of gameplay, etc.

I'm willing to pay $2-3 per hour for some games based on the other factors already mentioned above (genre, ratings).

Now let's compare this to a night out @ the movies...

I typically meet friends for food & drinks, then go to the movie, then have another drink afterward to discuss the movies, etc. We usually meet at 6pm, catch a 7pm show that is maybe 2 hours, so 9pm and now we go we go out for another hour to discuss the movie - so it's 10pm (gotta go to work tomo) We were basically out for 4 hours and spent $20-30 on dinner / appetizers / drinks, $10 on the movie, $10 on popcorn & a soda, $10 after the movie = $50-60 for 4 hours of entertainment & time w/ friends.

Games are a much better value & usually include the same friends w/ voice coms too!

Another example: I cancelled my $100 per month cable TV because I never watched 100 hours of TV per month (barely even 40).

Anyway, I am probably weird like that, but it's been a good value system for me - and has kept my game purchases / budget in check.

However, by backlog is huge thanks to steam sales where I get really interesting 40 hour games (based on genre, ratings) for $5-10 !

That's my 2 cents!

I usually make up my mind about games long before this information becomes available. And I usually base my purchases on my own impressions of a game. I don't even like to read reviews about games that I set my eyes on.
The crowd hardly affects me at all. In fact if a game gets too much hype I usually take it as a warning sign. And I've learned that a game taking flak doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. ME:A was a darn good game for example.

For me it's not about price / hours played at all. I spent close to 80 hours with DA:I, but still felt I got less enjoyment than from COD:Infinite Warfare, which I finished in less than 10 hours.

Sure if a game was 2-3 hours long I'd feel cheated but that hasn't happened yet.

I usually make up my mind before much information is available too, but I just add it to my steam wishlist and wait for a deal because I have such a huge backlog.

By the time I actually buy the game and make time to play it - the verdict is in - community buzz or my favorite youtubers have been raving (good or bad) & it has been patched, etc.

PUBG is a good example... lot's of buzz, but lots of bugs. I waited for patches & hoped for a sale but one of my buddies pushed me to play, so I bought it @ $32 (w/ tax) and played 28 hours (so far). It's fun if you have a buddy & coms, but it's just an "okay" game. My friend got busy @ work & I have had no urge to play again (yet). I totally feel like I got my money's worth though, but mostly because I got to shoot the shit & joke around w/ my friend, so I guess that is a different metric.

I also bought COD: Infinite Warfare for $32 & finished it in 10 hours, and I freaking LOVED IT. I plan to play it again in a year or so, and totally feel like I got my money's worth there too. $1-2-3 per hour for gaming is a GREAT DEAL to me.

BTW: what is ME:A?

I looked up Dragon Age: Inquisition too & have to ask why you played 80 hours if it wasn't that enjoyable?

I got Infinite Warfare for like $8, so it was a great deal. But it would've been worth it at full price as well. I already knew I wanted the game when the infamous first trailer came out that has millions of views and 50-50 like / dislike on youtube. But I just somehow forgot about it by the time it released. So I picked it up a year late.

ME:A is Mass Effect Andromeda

DA:I wasn't all bad, but it had a ton of unnecessary grind, fetch quests, and item collection. It's a 6-7 ish game that lasts 80 hours. I prefer a 8-9 that lasts 10 hours.
