2 years since the 1070 and 1080 were released...

I have a gigabyte 1080 from 2 years ago, never bought the 1080ti. Would it be a worthy upgrade to go from this to the new cards coming out soon? I bought it before the mining craze so i probably could resell it for the same price back if i can get my hands on the new ones for msrp.

680->980->1080 has been an acceptable upgrade path so far. We'll see if they can keep up the 50%+ with the 1180/2080.

I can't believe it has been 2 years. I am quite glad I bought my MSI Gaming 1070 on release, as prices have been a rollercoaster.

Meanwhile, I feel awful helping people build a gaming PC now.

Dude... Looks like our vendor was right. I think I owe him a beer or something.

One of our vendors who has a history of knowing things told me the next Nvidia GPU is going to be released around the same time as Shadow of the Tomb Raider to show off some new Nvidia exclusive technology.

I told him he was full of shit. If He's right and I have to wait that long, I'm going to be (more) pissed.
