I gave up on the Vega FE. Gaming drivers cause games to crash. Software control is non existent in Msi afterburner etc. The Air version runs around 1300mhz and is very hot and loud. Owned 2 of them. One at launch and one recently. They are garbage and AMD discontinued them.

18.Q2 are best drivers yet, running the Gaming driver that goes with these, 18.4.1. For some reason The Options menu no longer lists the Pro Drivers as an option, just the loaded game drivers. So I may have to reinstall them. Other than that, playing FC5 at 4K, maxed out, Crossfire with resolution scaling 1.2 to keep it in the FreeSync range. For that game they are running very good. Mining wise never been better as well.
So far so okay with my Vega FE. My only issue is tied to Freesync which is causing blanking in games. I suspect this is tied to my monitor, which I've used CRU to increase the Freesync range to 40-100Hz and maybe that's just not viable.
If anyone has some suggestions, I hope to do more tinkering this weekend.

No blanking but my range is rather limited from 40hz- to 60hz. I extended the range previously from 35hz to 61hz but it makes such little difference I did not bother when moving the monitor to a different system.
Reloaded 18.Q2, Pro drivers and FC 5 in Crossfire is a stutter feast with the Pro drivers. Reloaded 18.4.1 Pro gaming drivers and used the Options menu to go to them, smooth as butter in FC 5 at 4K with CrossFire, almost 100% scaling but once again no Pro Driver option in the Options menu. Anyways the Options menu is not suppose to work with two cards installed, I got it to work in 18.Q1 drivers and it seems to have carried over even with the clean installation option.
I need the Pro drivers for Modo, 3d program, with recent release with VR support using the VIVE. Bummer. I may use DDU, pull a card, do a fresh install, then put the second FE back in. See if that does it like with 18.Q1.
My monitor is supposed to be cleared for 80-100Hz Freesync, but even back at that range I get blanking, so I'm just turning off Freesync for now and enjoying the 60+Hz that I wanted from the monitor in the first place.
Maybe I can get something to work with new drivers down the road, but I am not going to hold my breath for that. Just have to wait for the Q3 Pro drivers and whatever Game Drivers are allowed through that...

You can install any game version drivers you want after doing the custom install step of the pro driver the first and only time. After that using the exact same update file on the exact same amd website you can upgrade to the exact same driver as everyone else, every time since 2018.
Apparently this concept is really hard for some people, dunno why. The FE is literally nothing more than a V64 with 16GB with the same metal shroud stock cooler anodized a different color.
I would say "different bios" but that is true for other V56/64 models too, there isn't a universal image. I have a pair of FEs, two different 64s and just got a nano as well.

How does one go about to install these "Gaming Drivers" as you claim? It is will known that the official install method is that you install the Pro driver, choose a custom install and then upon reboot it allows to install up to two gaming drivers as shown in the screen grab below. If you try to install the 18.5.2 or 18.6.1 drivers, you end up with the pro driver only with no option to switch between the Pro driver or the Gaming driver.

You double click the installer while the current driver is in game mode, just like any other Vega owner can when they go get same 18.6.1 file (or 18.7, .8, whatever the latest is) on amd's website.
Maybe this plain old regular driver install method comes from playing with computer hardware long before driver bloatware toolbars held everyone's hand? Setting IRQs with jumpers, now that was a real bitch.

I'll be damned, that indeed worked!!! Thx!!! Usually with that driver it'll just install the Pro driver when the cards first came out. Appreciate the tip.

Whats the highest vram usage your cards have ever been able to use? Man i wish i had one of those cards! lol
I've used close to 16GB on GTA-V when playing online. That is the highest I have seen the VRAM being used.
