On stage at EA’s E3 2018 event, BioWare GM Casey Hudson revealed that Anthem will be released on February 22, 2019 for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Players will take on the role of Freelancers and explore uncharted territories using customizable exo-suits called Javelins. The hubs will be single player, while the rest of the world will be multiplayer oriented.

In Anthem, there are four suits that players will be able to use. The suits are called Javelins. The javelins will have customizable gear, which will affect the gameplay, and some visual options to add as well. As far as microtransactions, there are no loot boxes and the declaration that players will always know exactly what they're purchasing.

I hereby predict that it won't be all that great.

Not terrible, but not great.

It shall be another in the line of EA's growing array of beige paste based products.

The may be the narcotics talking, but I am pretty sure the game will be the greatest thing since Jesus invented sliced bread. Completely contrary to the EA norm, it will be devoid of lootboxes, DLC, and pass systems; using instead the old expansion methods for generating revenue. There will be some small PvP balance issues that they will honestly address with thought and care and they will take a zero tolerance stance on Cheaters and Exploiters. This title will turn out to be the greatest MMO since WoW and will change the face of online play....

Passes to the left.

... and this was supposed to be the destiny killer? Pfft

If not for the Anthem logo splash, I'd have no idea this was a separate game and not new Destiny DLC.

Bioware has yet to make a game that's hooked me to the point where I've FINISHED it.

I've bought KOTOR, Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins, and got bored with all three pretty early. I just don't care to drop real money their way anymore.

Maybe if I can pick it up for ten bucks? You know how fucking rare that is on Overpriced Origin.

The anthem for Anthem was horrible. What were those pauses in supernova?

Funny thing, I bounced off ME1, DAO, and almost bounced off KOTOR.

But KOTOR II and ME2/3 ended up being fantastic. Now they're 2 of my favorite series ever.

If you're still interested, you should give those a shot. ME2 is an entry point for alot of people actually.

I'm almost getting a Zelda Breath of the Wild vibe from this.

It's hard to determine any actual gameplay from this trailer, but it would be sweet if it was an actually hand crafted world with the same love BOTW got.

That actually might get my money. Never a pre order though. Although it is EA, they'll likely mess it up somehow.

I'd be reluctant about this even if it was single player with a regular campaign. As an MMO I couldn't give a flying fuck about it.

The graphics look nice and the world is rich but I'm sure it'll be pretty empty and lack-luster to explore and interact with...unfortunately.

Game play looks pretty generic.

From Executive producer Mark Darrah:

The game’s story has been “developed to add more stories for years to come,” expanding on lore and new story lines.

Sounds like YET ANOTHER money making scheme of selling endless "DLC's" to just milk yet another game.
