Fallout 76

Wait, so there is a mod for F4 that "enhances" the sim settlements? Which I want NONE of. Is there a mod that just gets rid of that shit altogether?

Because on the vanilla, you cannot "ignore it" completely, there is still minimal shit to do. I don't want to do any of it.

Yes! I definitely am well aware of this so I don't want to be unfair about it.

Exactly. I still want the games that they make faster though. Since I just love playing them even if they would let other studios like Obsidian or another reputable developer make games in their universes.

Damn, I thought that I hated that part of the game the most. You, sir, take the cake although now that you mention it I would be ok with that mod through a couple of playthroughs.

Oblivion has an amazing modding archive on the Nexus, you should give it a try sometime. :)

I will. I have it on Steam just never went back to it after beating it on Xbox. I've been meaning to play Morrowind as well since I never got to that game either.

I don't think they're resting on their laurels. I, too, am pretty upset with the constant recycles of Skyrim and the fact that they constantly release ridiculously buggy games. I do wish they would create games on a more regular clip but after trying some game development with my brother. That shit is hard work and I get them not making games quicker. With that said I do hope you're proven wrong and that they're actually working on a more stable/new engine for Elder Scrolls/Fallout. I hope that they're making more single player games and no games as a service like Destiny.

They make a very solid base game though. That is what allows modders to enhance a good but not great product.
Don't get me wrong I love their games. I've spent hundreds of hours playing the fallout and elder scrolls series of games. I played daggerfall and the fallout originals. But their games come with issues.
It's not surprising with scope they try to cover and have it fully modifiable.

Possible leaks:

MRX talks about "No external Modding" for Bethesda's upcoming Fallout 76. Say it ain't so!?

That would be the nail in the coffin if Bethesda decided to pull that shit. I know they have been trying to get their Creation Club up and running. I just dont see how they could not have free modding in a Bethesda game.

Also, Bethesda in the past have praised the modding community. Hell their base building from Fallout 4 literally came from mod in Fallout 3 called "Wasteland Settler!".

Anyway, NO mods = NO BUY, fuck that business.

An online game with maybe a competitive game mode and free unregulated mods is a good start if you want to fail hard.

As Q-BZ says we will see in a little while what's what, I can wait till then.

All the rumors I've seen suggest there is a multiplayer component to this game, many reports suggesting online only. If that is the case, I don't think it really has to be explained why modding isn't an option. You cannot have unsanctioned, unofficial mods in a multiplayer game.

If there is a fully single player element that is in no way tied to any aspect of multiplayer and they do not allow modding, I think that would go over pretty poorly for Bethesda. But anything I'm hearing suggests that will not be the case, in which case any expectation of modding silly.

Yeah, I think that most gamers feel that way which is why earlier post suggests they get away with murder. I feel like they do what they can do with the type of game they make but I have seen some open world games with way fewer bugs. I wonder if it is their scripting/questing system that causes all of the bugs?

I would be shocked if they would actually do this! I just don't see how they can justify this given their history and previous mod support.

Please no more settlement The Sims micro management bullshit. Really left a bad taste in my mouth in F4.
Seriously. I hated every wasted minute of doing just the bare minimum to complete the game, let alone get those inane achievements. The spectated fight was the worst. After spending half an hour getting it setup it looked to me like it wasn't actually going to work. I'm so thankful it did the first time.

Yup.

I have to agree... mods are frankly the only thing that makes F4 interesting.
I'll wait until it actually launches, but no player mods - no buy

Bethesda is really taking a risk here. The nerd rage will be unbelievable if this is what I think it is. You best really deliver something sweet for it to have any chance of success.

More likely it is just a cheap money grab. Perhaps even browser based like battlefield heroes.

I don't believe this is a cash grab sort of game. I would imagine Bethesda sunk a ton of money into these advertisements. They also painted these buildings for E3 on every Major releases for some years now.

I think that you're right! The advertisement rollout seems to be pretty intense. I don't think they would put this much effort if it wasn't a major release.

All this talk has made me want to go back to playing fallout 4 with a fresh install of mods and all. It's such a strange cycle for me, I play for hours, get a bit bored, move to another game for a few months then come back. I always like to reinstall and update after being gone for a little while and just start a new game. I hate continuing a save after not playing for a while and having corruption or conflict.

Still hard to tell what this game is, but at least its not Battle Royale

4x the size as Fallout 4 and those map designs look pretty wide open....really leaning towards a MMO here (like elder scrolls online)

Either that or a survival game. Think "Metal Gear Survive" as a recent example.

Tentatively positive about this even though it is like we all figured, at least broadly.

So it's basically DAYZ!
The world 4 times the size of Fallout 4 and you won't meet more than a dozen or so players.
Meh...

I don't understand what this game is...so I can play it solo just like the previous Fallout games?

So no mention about mods...interesting. I like how you can build ANYWHERE on the map thats a huge plus. Dedicated servers? Can you rent them or host your own?.....A lot of questions still, but I am semi interested.

Solo but online only. So no modding. The game will be developed with multiplayer in mind so playing solo will probably mean missing out on things.
Persistent world? Repeatedly setting off nukes probably doesn't end well for anyone on that server.
Right now it is an on sale item at best. Maybe after more details or reviews come out I'll change my mind.

Yeah.... I'm leaning towards the whole "wait and see" side-of-things.

If the SP suffers for it, that'll be a real shame.

I don't know what else to say at this point.
