This is what happens when some of the best toys from your childhood intersect with modern technology. Don't tell me you are not already considering buying one....for the kids. Yeah, for the kids.

Video.

Teach them about using a gopro at this age and they'll be hooked throughout all their vehicular days :)

I still collect hot wheels and throw a few $$ on them from time to time. Something like this means I would need to buy 2. One to keep in package, and one to sacrifice.. So I'll just hold off before I waste money

I always preferred matchbox over hot wheels. Their toy cars were cheaper and more faithful to the real cars they were based on.

The Hot Wheel by itself is only $1.07, so you can still get 2. ;)

GRUMBLE..why why WHY was this not a thing 10 years ago when my oldest was 7 and youngest 4.......... mumbles about maybe having several hot wheels track sets in one of their rooms/closets still.......

I applaud gopro for thinking of this shit.

gopro sales were way down, and recent news sounded like they were on the brink of collapse.

Then someone at gopro thought "Let's trick the kids into begging their parents for one of these expensive shits by attaching it to some hot wheels."
If you look at it objectively, hotwheels gopro has very limited applications, and the shaky video sucks.
Doesn't hold a candle to a drone cam, which is what kids really want.

Holy fuck what an irritating family! I quit watching after 2:20. I can understand trying to keep the kids excited but my god SHUT UP!

Mute, and skipping to the successful run is the trick. :D I actually muted it because I had another video playing on my other screen, so I never had to hear them.

Yawn. Boring. Now, put a couple of GoPros (one looking forward, one back) on a big model rocket (of maybe a Falcon 9 :)) and show me the footage of a flight of THAT, and I'll be interested. Not sure a Go Pro could take that though, those little rockets take off like a golf ball smacked by a sledgehammer.

They might want to consider letting their kid play with the Hot Wheels stuff.

Pfft, Nah.

I always thought the wheels rotated much smoother with Matchbox. Now, I'm wondering where my collection of these disappeared to? Probably long gone.

Found my old track and accessories while doing my slow move to my new place. When did they switch to the blue connectors and 1ft track sections? Mine are all the 2ft sections with the reddish flat connectors. Sad thing is this camera setup provides justification for why you shouldn't throw anything out no matter how many years it has occupied space while going unused. Used to have some of the rechargeable cars. Not sure what brand they were. Last time I checked many years ago, the batteries were mostly toast.

This camera setup looks almost perfect for use with model rocketry as well.

Probably exists somewhere but this got me remembering not only my hot wheels collection but also my old TYCO slot car tracks. How cool would it be to have a camera on something like that?!?

If I'm lucky the kids will lose interest quickly so I can really have some fun with this!

This is kinda funny, but I lost interest almost as quickly as the kid. He disappears as the adults take over, and they try to call him back, but he clearly knows better.

always dreamed of being able to see from the driver point of view of my hotwheels when on tracks..
