Looks like it's getting decent reviews so far. I don't have time to pick it up and try it yet, but it does look pretty fun, if you're into the Descent thing.

As a former 6dof addict who put thousands of hours into Descent 1 & 2, I can highly recommend Overload even today. It's the most faithful spiritual successor of the Descent series as of date.

Having some of the original developers and artists on the team probably has something to do with it. The most impressive thing was how quickly Revival Productions went from Kickstarter, to Steam Early Access, to a full release almost within two years. This is how you do a Kickstarter, folks.

Maybe I'm missing "it", but that looks like it would get old really fast

To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel either, but I do know that a LOT of people are huge fans of the Descent games. I love the original, and another similar game that came later called Forsaken. It's a lot of fun playing multiplayer too. We used to play this in a lab that I worked at on a bunch of high-end (at the time) machines. It was great, and it was a new experience following shortly after Doom. I'm not sure if I'd still find it as fun as I did back then or not. It would probably depend on how many people I could get to play it with me.

Played through the demo - VERY reminiscent of Descent! Looks good and runs reasonably well (60fps average) on low settings with my rig (granted, at 3440x1440).
