fastgeek has been hanging about the [H] for about as long as we can remember. He has been a huge part of of Distributed Computing community for about the same amount of time. This weekend he took the time not only to show us his four processor Intel 8160 CPU system, but even took the time to know out popular benchmark, just for funsies. Geeks, take your tissues.


One perk to my job is having some pretty powerful systems that come into my possession. This just came in for a certain project and figured I'd have some fun putting it through some tests and such before converting it into its real role next week.

And I was so pleased with myself when I got my Xeon X3440 over 600 points. :) Definitely a lustworthy setup, but does it play Quake III? Don't forget to enable SMP!
 
Nice to see this make the front page.

All those itty bitty tiles in Cinebench were so cute, like a swarm of locusts or killer bees.
 
haha, years ago i used to use the old seti@home command line version to stress test new systems to put 100% load on them.

BUT CAN IT RUN CRYSIS AT MAX SETTINGS??? :p
