A leak by accessories retailer Mobile Fun suggests that Apple’s upcoming iPhone takes inspiration from both the X and SE models: the render shows a chassis that was clearly inspired by the SE, but it also includes the notch introduced by the X. CAD drawings indicate that it will feature a 5-inch design.

With confusion reigning over whether this is a 5-inch “iPhone SE2” or a larger circa 6-inch model sometimes referred to as the ‘iPhone X SE’ (neither name is likely to be the official one), Mobile Fun has obtained a pair of CAD drawings which show the new iPhone has the same size chassis as the iPhone SE.

I may be looking at the past? *Looks at old 5S in storage* Yep, still looks the same.

Yay, the "notch"!

No design could make me want an iPhone. Too many sacrifices to user control I'd have to make.

I have no problem with a notch, if its normally used to place the little icons anyway. Otherwise i guess i have been defining radical wrong.

Look, my iPhone 6s is aging, won't wirelessly charge, bends easy. I'm all for going back in time to previous years for a more solid phone. This is about as innovative as a VW Beetle

I'd buy one if they manage a larger screen in the SE chassis. Hopefully the battery life isn't significantly lessened.

All i want is a 4" phone with modern hardware...Hate these giant phones, for the most part my phone is a modem, not an interface i enjoy using.

If this thing is 5 inches with no bezel, it’s about the same size as a typical phone with a 4 inch screen.

Already? Even nvidia lets the xx80 last longer.

I was given an iPhone 7 for work. So badly want to go back to Android but stuck with it for the next year at least.

The 8plus so far has been a disappointment for me. And any phone that no longer uses a fingerprint reader is no longer a phone I plan to purchase.

If this phone follows that trend, I will go android for my next phone in a year or two.

you need a new phone, every year, for the rest of your life ... or else

Getting a bit sick of my Pixel 2, I quite like that design. I loved the iPhone 5.

I'm using an SE since I don't like the large phone sizes. The 5" SE is the perfect size and there aren't any other good phones in this form factor.

If they really do go bezel-less on this size phone then it's a definitely upgrade for me.

I'll keep my 5c and just have a new battery put in it.

After that it'll probably be an SE (or SE2?) when they're about $150 used.

May I ask why there are soo many Apple hating scrubs on here? I never understood this.

Their phones are fucking amazing and have great build quality and resale value. (im not a fan of apple computers)

I hate that I can't set Waze as my primary map app. Bluetooth has occasional playback issues in my Camry. Safari annoys me, and the lack of flexibility in customizing is annoying as well.

Roger that.

I'm not an Apple hater by any means -- I love the OS from the get go unlike Android. While Android is more customizeable (sp?), it's also a much bigger pain in the ass. iOS is a closed sandbox, but it's a phone; I don't need it to be like a PC or laptop. What I don't like is how Apple has been seriously dropping the ball with the phone design. Getting rid of the headphone jack is a pain but one I could deal with. Getting rid of the fingerprint reader in X is a far more unforgiveable sin. TouchID is awesome, and its removal is really my driving factor in really not liking the direction Apple has taken with the phones.

Next purchase will likely be Android. Then again, given that the 8plus 256gb model is so new, it has plenty of life in it -- which means that Apple has plenty of times to come out with a design that will check all the right boxes for me to continue. I would get an Apple Mini or a desktop but it's too expensive for me to justify buying. At least for the price of a decent Apple laptop I can build a beast of a PC that's watercooled and can be improved upon. I wish Apple would get out of the hardware scene and just sell the OS. :(

I hate to break it too you, but most premium android handsets at this point are no different. It's why many of us who have loved android for that feature since the beginning have bitched more and more about the loss of features like the unlocked boot loader, removable battery, sd slot etc etc. All Samsungs have been basically iphones since the 6 and the other manufacturers aren't far behind.

Hopefully android treble which if i understand correctly it will give back what the locked boot loader took away.

Hopefully, otherwise I don't see me giving up my Gnex unless it outright dies. Unfortunately while that addresses the software problem, the hardware bloat problem continues to exist.

I'm just biding my time until the Purism phones are ready and I can toss pretty much whatever OS I want on there. With iPhones I literally can't even set my default browser. Something so basic taken away from me.
