You can preorder it on newegg right now.x27 is being advertised on Microcenter "Acer Store", no pre-order yet there though says "coming soon". No clickable link yet, but it should be up relatively soon. I do hope they allow pre-order on these displays there because I know theres atleast 1-2 other people in my area who are always competing with me for day 1 purchases to the point that a our local frys the Swifts were sold before they were even on the shelves and I missed the x34 on release date at Microcenter, had to buy from TigerDirect.
I'll be buying one of these to hold me over til something better comes out.
Microcenter has a better return policy though. Unless Newegg changed. You can preorder it on newegg right now.

- g-sync/VRR
- tight to 120hz+
- modern gaming overdrive
- low input lag by design
- high density FALD
- 1000nit peak w/ VA black depth augmented by FALD true HDR
- P3 color for HDR standards (QD filtered for lcd)
But, considering hdmi 2.1's specs for the next few years including VRR and low latency - and the fact that LG oleds can already do 120hz native internally, I agree with your acer/asus price tag comment in that respect, especially for the 65" BFGD ones.
Caveats being the size of LG tv's (though TCL is going to start printing 31" oleds eventually) .. the wait for hdmi 2.1.. the likely gpu upgrade to support hdmi 2.1 and VRR (assuming nvidia will require gpu upgrade for hdmi 2.1 and VRR if/when they support it).
People are talking about taking a pass because it's too little too late and at an extreme price point, especially considering what's upcoming in 2019 - 2020 in 120hz native over hdmi HDR OLED 4k tvs.. as well as smaller, cheaper oled panels due to be manufactured by TCL in 2019+ .... . and perhaps even VRR on tvs over hdmi 2.1 standard eventually if xbox's support of freesync can promote the feature enough.
The "only" thing these have going for them for gaming over 2019 120hz over hdmi 2.1 OLEDs is VRR, and even that could be an included feature at some point

HDMI 2.1 https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1511934073
The first phase of HDMI 2.1 certification starts in the second quarter, with full certification expected to begin in the third or fourth quarter of the year. Products with the official stamp of approval can be launched following successful certification.
Besides support for 8K and 10K resolution as well as 4K resolution at 120fps, HDMI 2.1 supports Dynamic HDR to enable “multiple static and dynamic HDR solutions”. It features eARC that “supports the most advanced high bitrate home theater audio formats, object-based audio, uncompressed 5.1 and 7.1, and 32-channel uncompressed audio” with audio bandwidth up to 37 Mb/s
- Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) reduces or eliminates lag, stutter and frame tearing for more fluid and better detailed gameplay.
- Quick Media Switching (QMS) for movies and video eliminates the delay that can result in blank screens before content is displayed.
- Quick Frame Transport (QFT) reduces latency for smoother no-lag gaming, and real-time interactive virtual reality.
- Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) allows the ideal latency setting to automatically be set allowing for smooth, lag-free and uninterrupted viewing and interactivity.

Wow this is ridiculous for a 27-inch monitor. Four times the price for the jump from 1440p to 4K at 144 Hz.
I could maybe see that price for 32in but not 27 in
You can pick up a 55" LG C7 OLED right now for less.In my opinion, at this price, anything below 40" is ridiculous.

Not sqying it isnt overpriced but you are paying for more than 4k and 144hz g-sync.
I still think these are terrible propositions. These will be elitist for 6 months. Paying top dollar at $1,999, I have a feeling those who buy these will have a big case of buyer’s remorse once CES 2019 arrives. 2019 OLEDs and other models will almost certainly be a big deal with HDMI 2.1.
I’m not saying the tech these are packing is in any way bad, it’s just a case of too little too late IMO. Stuff like FALD should have been adopted and implemented by the industry years ago, yet they sat on their hands content with “good enough.”
Once again it’ll really come down to the G-Sync argument. Personally, $1,999 is a hard pill to swallow for just that feature whose many other features are shared by other monitors and TVs.
To be fair, you can use current OLEDs at 120hz in 1080P, which also makes VRR fairly irrelevant since it's easy to peg 120fps in anything at 1080P. No idea how good it looks or whether it's worth doing, though.

I'm basically of the same opinion. In any case, I wouldn't have a monitor less than 40" on my main rig at this point.
Who's going to remove the AR film on theirs?
considering you're really only changing the refresh rate.
No. It has a FALD backlight which has taken years of development to get correct, displaying HDR correctly isn't possible on current panels and backlights. 4K 144hz is the simplest, least important part of this monitor.
Six months.......you could be dead tomorrow....hit by a bus....a piano falls on your head....aggressive cancer like teabiscuit..... this is here, coming now....enjoy it for what it is, while it is, when you can. IMHO everything is a placeholder until 4k120+ OLED VRR.
I hate when people bring this up. I have a C7 OLED and 120hz 1080p looks like hot garbage on it since GPU's blow at properly scaling 1080Pee.
4k60hz looks so much better than 1080p120 on these OLEDs that the 120hz mode is virtually worthless.
I have my preorder in for the X27 Predator....I would prefer X32 as that is my "grail size." But oh well, I will love the X27 tenderly until something better comes along.

Uh, if you're going through your bucket list, monitors are probably one of the last things you'd be worrying about.
Thank God that crypto miners can't make money from monitors. Otherwise three would be even more absurdly priced.
Are you serious? I think crypto mining increased prices 25%-50% across the board for everything PC related.
Crypto-mining is to PC's what Tourist Traps are to Real Estate.
Mate, it was a joke.
