Chili's Credit Card Data Breach

They're trying their damnest to be the new Applebee's, low class clientel, no party sizelimits, no gratuities on big parties so youll have a server who probably got stiffed on a 200+ $ party at any point in the day, and way too much more to even go into. There's something wrong at the corporate level. Seems like a bunch of marketing assholes fill the C-suite, make bad deals with companies like Ziosk (card processor that gave someone kickbacks so their devices are only chip card readers allowed in the restaraunt). They'll do dumb shit like run ads or specials and not even tell the stores in advance so they can order more stuff in advance. burning dumpster fire central.

Who the fuck eats at Chili's?

knowing that eating somewhere that is below $175 a person is below most people we now know why they can't afford video cards and have to complain about how they are way outside their price range.

Been easily 6+ years since I've been to a chili's. That said the important question is, "Are their ribs good?"..Sure..if you have no taste buds and the only thing you compare too is a McRib. Outside of that, they are absolute boiled and pressure cooked garbage. That said, they used to have some pretty solid burgers and such as I recall. I don't know about anything recent though.

The article headline makes it seem like everyone who ate at Chili's for two months got their shit pushed in if they paid with a credit card. The article also says:

in-restaurant purchases at certain Chili’s restaurants

So, does that mean it was a system breech at corporate or some pimply jackasses were surfing Pr0n at a few restaurants and infected the computers>

That is what they haven't started yet. It is still unknown what certain means. It could be a few different things and until they give that information of what locations where hit who knows which it is.

The skimmers was installed on the POS so likey had access to the servers at main servers that keep the POS uptodate to install on all pos terminals

like some places just having the HAVC system on the same network as your servers/pos network with a weak password was how it was done at another place(got access via HAVC system and side stepped into the servers to gain higher access) I belive that was target ?

Funny thing was I believe Norton endpoint protection system had actually alerted them about some odd things happening but they ignored it (was from another article somewhere els)

some company's or system admins just don't seem see the issue of not having a separate vlan's or even isolated network just for there servers and pos network and HAVC and WiFi networks (basic stuff)
