Late Night Hunt Showdown Streaming

Nope. Lost everything. Excellent round, took out hunters, got the bounty, escapeed.

Super lame. Not digging this.

Apparently, don't play during the busiest part of the day on the west coast.

Noted.

Just got shot in the face on spawn by my teammate.

If you've been following, this happens a lot. FIX IT. Yes, I'm leaving feedback.

The LAN party guys all got into a game together and have 4 teams working together. Funny as hell.

Great night of Hunt here. Ran the Gauntlet the last time out, got a few Hunter kills. Smash and grabbed a couple single bounties before that. w00t w00t!!1

Going solo .. snuck up on a team killing the Butcher.. I hit one as they ran off with the bounty into some brush but didn't kill him .. they start tagging me with shots so I make a run for it with my one health bar .. I aggro a couple zombies in the process and take them out with my pistol not before losing half of my last health bar. Meanwhile one dude flanks me and the other runs straight at me with a machete zig zag bunny hopping .. I get him once in the chest but he ends up slicing me down and then standing over me telling me "you need to head back to the shooting range (female dog)"

:arghh:

No clue man, frustrating. Last night I had some damn good rounds though, we took out some hunters and had a couple $300 games, one was over $500!
I think you must have just had a bit of bad luck as I have seen none of that.

Had a great time leveling this guy up last night.

Looked like that said Jessica Justice LOL! Hmm, they probably should add some female characters to the game, so you can switch between M/F when you choose a hunter. Some real Hateful 8 looking MFers. I wouldn’t mind that and no its not for any other reason than I think it would be cool character models. Some girls do play the game and are bounty hunters in real life, so why not.
Actually, female hunters are on the roadmap.

Can't wait to see the female hunter models! But then again......it doesn't look like anything to me..........

Playing solo .. I killed and banished the spider and the butcher .. I see the extraction point in front of me .. and I run out of time... aaarg!

I keep watching this thread get bigger and bigger... the game looks cool and apparently a lot of fun according to you guys. I think I'll pick it up tomorrow morning after my shift.

Did you give it a go?

Is there a cross promo thing going on with [H] and Hunt? Just curious because there is a Hunt stream promo on the front page every day and it inspired me to buy a copy, but I didn't see a [H] link for purchasing.

No, we have been working with those streamers and just staying specific to Hunt because I like it. Wait till you see it, wow. It is incredible looking and the gameplay is hardcore.

I'm killing off "Father" this weekend, having finished all the sides quests in Far Cry, then I will fire up Hunt. This is assuming I don't get lost in the the real woods this weekend.
Watch out for zombies.

Soooo... is this game sponsorsing [H] or something? It's been front page for a while now...
Nope, we just like it and are giving it exposure. If you want something to push that GPU of yours, this game is probably the best looking game in terms of realism that I have ever played. And the gameplay, while not for the casual gamer, is tops of what I have seen in the last decade, bar none.

I know, lol .. he's a fun guy to watch .. he's like the surfer dude of Hunt Showdown

Watched for a while today. Game intrigues me loke tarkov did but in a better wsy.

Really wish they had a trial version.

If i liked it i would buy and would seriously love to play this with someone nit random

Looks like some folks are upset that we are hosting Hunt streamers.

http://archive.is/FdxF8 - "What i want to do with this post is just to open the eyes to this kind of shit and i want HardOCP out of the Hunt community. "

the whole streaming thing is pretty fucking stupid to me to begin with. But, whatever, if people want to sit and watch other people play a game, so be it. That being said, I don't fully understand how promoting a certain player is hurting anyone else? Sounds like some butthurt bullshit over the minuscule size of their streaming e-peen to me. People just looking for something to complain about instead of enjoying a game and helping to grow a community. Or maybe they're butthurt that [H] didn't ask them.

But what do I know. I don't watch or stream games. I think the only time I've ever visited Twitch was to see what "Sea of Thieves" was about.

I bought Hunt Showdown, btw. It's a great game. I'm just not "in the know" on what all this streaming is about, or why people waste their time watching someone else play. Maybe someone could enlighten me.

Funny thing is my little brother used to watch me play Pirates back on my old 486dx. He never wanted to play. Just watch. I could have made a mint!

Still, however weird it may seem. It is a thing. I prefer to play than to watch.

Can't quite tell from game play but is this a game my wife and I can play against bots/AI?

Also,
Could this run on her G4400/1060 3GB rig? :D

Nope, there is no game currently that is PvE only. It is all a combination of PvE and PvP. And yes, you can run it on a 1060 on Low settings, and it still looks pretty damn good.

^^^ Picked game up on sale and installed a few days ago.. finally had a few minutes to fire it up tonight. Can't get the resolution to stay at 7680x1440. When selected the it changes and the "keep res.. revert in 15 seconds" yes/no popps up and the 2 side monitors come alive. But clicking "yes" does nothing and it just reverts back to single screen. Anyone else having issues with 3 screen gaming?

Hmmm. I have not talked to anyone running this in triple screen resolutions. Let me see if I can get an answer.

Here is a list of the content changes coming that were announced on stream. The stream archive is here, starts at the 5 hour 29 minute mark.

Flare gun that can be used to light up areas, as well as to set PvE and PvP on fire. It is a tool, not a weapon.

Axes found around the map can now be picked up and thrown as a weapon. I assume sledgehammers too, but they did not mention or show hammers.

Hive bombs. Yep, that bug lady in a bottle that makes a nice homing grenade.

Bear traps. Can be reused if found and moved to a different location.

Spectate mode after you die so you can go along with your teammate and stop getting a suntan.

Looting of downed Hunters. Ammo, and a chance of a consumable item if they had those.

DeathScreen after you get killed. Will show you who killed you, what weapon they used, and at what distance from you.

And finally......the BOOST. The bounty will contain a Dark Sight perk. When you pick the bounty up, it will allow you to see other players in a 100 to 150 yard radius. This will have a limited amount of time, and will stay with the bounty even if dropped.

Also from earlier this week: Crossbow, pistol crossbow, and throwing knives. New "water monster" PvE as well.

Well no shit, viewers==money and there is some evidence to suggest people gravitate towards the "larger" streams.

I don't agree with/believe that guy's "community" bullshit argument, but I will say that generating "empty" views for channels is pretty lame.
So how does this work, any time a unique IP views the forum that generates a "viewer"?
First and foremost, Twitch encourages hosting streamers with embedding.
https://blog.twitch.tv/the-full-twitch-experience-now-available-as-an-embed-a0e3514ad72c

These are not empty views. These are embedded views with real HardOCP readers and unregistered forum users. Forum users that do not want to see the embed can close it and it is gone.

There are things said by that fellow that are patently untrue. He never contacted me to discuss it before he wrote that. We have never asked or required people use HardOCP overlays or promote HardOCP in their channels. This has been something they have wanted to do AFTER we have started hosting them. We have simply wanted to promote the game, one because it truly pushes GPUs, and is glorious from a game engine and content perspective, and second it is all kinds of hardcore shooter fun. Certainly not a casual game at all.

We started hosting smaller streamers and three of the partnered guys that primarily show Hunt, got upset. This "hurting smaller steamers" is a manufactured narrative. Two of the three guys that are pushing this, did in fact talk to me about this, and up-front, they had no concern about smaller streamers. They were only concerned that I was not promoting larger streamers. Here is a chatlog from one conversation.

QuoStreams: So how come you're not hosting any of the bigger streamers in hunt? only the 10-40 viewer ones?
QuoStreams: because its directly cutting into ad revenue for partnered streamers with less viewers than the people that view your website
QuoStreams: People click on the first channel
QuoStreams: fisk has 30K followers, streams from Australia, gets less viewers than all of people with embedded streams
QuoStreams: that hurts their business

So basically we have partnered streamers that are upset that we are not hosting them. These are guys that generally stream earlier in the day, and we do not host streams till after lunchtime (USA) on the HardForum, and not till after 4 or 5pm on HardOCP. We have had one of our partnered streamers make Twitch partner this week in fact. :) I would suggest this totally validates what we are doing in Twitch's eyes, and we have assuredly helped him grow his channel.

The bottom line here is that we are giving some smaller streamers exposure that these guys are not getting and they are upset about it as it pushes them off the top of the directory. And that is about it.

We have spoken to both Twitch and Crytek about what we are doing, and neither have issue with it.

Updated Damage Falloff, and Penetration Falloff since the new patches...
