Borderlands 3 others leaked

Take it with a massive mountain of salt. There are several inconsistencies there. Notable Forza Horizons 5 before we even have a Horizons 4. Listing Dragon Quest 2 (maybe they mean Builders 2?) for the Xbox One. It is highly unlikely that a DQ game would show up there. FF7R being listed on the XB1 when Sony bought timed exclusivity for the game, not to mention there is no fucking way it will be out this year. Metroid Prime 4, which is definitely not showing up this year. Destiny Comet, which lists EA as the publisher on the store page which also says the game is a single player title. Not to mention that it is highly unlikely that a third Destiny will release this year (if it ever does).

Looking through the listings, EA is mentioned as the publisher for every single one of the supposedly "leaked" titles.

Borderlands 3 will be so stuffed full of Micro transactions and randomized loot boxes and segmented pre-order tiers and pay-to-win mechanics that it will be an absolute critical failure.

But it will probably make tons of money.

Splinter Cell? Meh, the last game was a shell of its former self. No interrogating, mostly linear maps, much more action packed and much less stealth. The sad part is it received rave reviews. Chaos Theory was awesome and it went downhill from there. I expect this to be some shitty open world experience that is even less stealth based and more about crafting crap.

Borderlands 3? BL2 was such a drag. I don't have faith in them making the game anymore fun. Probably another rehash.

Gears of War 5? GoW4 was okay but certainly not very impressive. Lackluster story and mediocre gameplay. I can't imagine number 5 being all that special...

That is what I think of those games. Bring on a new IP or a squeal worth playing.

I generally find your posts about games to be pretty negative, but I agree with you on all counts here. :p

I also don't give a shit about a RAGE 2 unless they drastically revamp it.

Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a sequel. I absolutely LOVED RAGE and would LOVE a sequel.

I realy enjoyed that game, might fire it up again one of these days.

Destiny Comet isn't referring to a new Destiny. In the past it has been a placeholder name for future DLC.

Don't forget the pre-sequel. I don't trust them to not fuck it up, and would love a well done borderlands 3.

What about the pre-sequel? If was farmed out to a B-team in australia that closed its doors soon after. The homegrown Borderlands have always been fantastic.

Borderlands 3 definitely my most anticipated title after RDR2. Rage 2 would just be icing on the cake.

"lewtzbox random microtransactions stuffed with pay2win blah blah" -- hit every buzzword (P2W? Borderlands isn't even PvP). Except completely wrong in BL3's case. Pitchford is on record stating he's against all that shit, and even resisted selling golden keys for cash in BL2 even though a "non-trivial" amount of fans were asking for it.

We'll see, Money tends to loosen peoples opinions on things once presented.

I trust Pitchford's word about as much as I trust a fart after Taco Bell.

Borderlands 2 was riddled with micro transactions and pre-order bonuses, pre-order tiers unlocking different characters and skins, season passes etc. Radical Randy proved himself wrong before he even made his case.

BL2 had some DLC that was larger then some AAA games and should be together with witcher 3 DLC more or less the standard.

Yes, DLC is not inherently bad. Expansions to a game are great, and I'm happy to pay for that.

I'm not happy about micro transactions, on-disc DLC and pre-order bonuses in a $60 game: All of which BL2 had in spades.

Chaos Theory definitely was the best out of all the SC games. Double Agent came close to being good, but there was too much filler content like walking around the enemy establishment doing mundane bullshit. I hope they bring back the moral dilemmas from that game you had to choose from.

I was mixed about RAGE. I didn't find it horrific but then again I didn't have high expectations for it. I believe many expected it to be a masterpiece and I'd be disappointed if I was expecting that. I recall the gunplay actually being pretty good, graphics good minus the terrible texture pop in, fairly atmospheric and some interesting locales to see. It was open enough to give some freedom but I don't recall spending too much time aimlessly running around. Story could have been better but it was decent enough to carry the game, although I don't remember much of anything about it. Ending was abrupt, I do remember that. I'd actually be happy to see a sequel assuming it is similar overall in gameplay style, uses the awesomely optimized idTech engine and brings some genuine improvements to the story quality.

I'd have more faith in it that any of those other three games. I'd love an older style SC game but I don't see that happening. It will be co-op infused, have lots of other credits and online things shoved in your face and all that. Not the minimal, sneak in here, sneak around here, squeeze some info out of this guy and slip away gameplay I loved about the CT.

Much more excited about Rage 2 than a Borderlands 3.

Right? I went back last month for a replay and forgot how good this game was (and John Goodman!), texture pop in and fetch quests notwithstanding. Gameplay and story are, however, achingly close to Borderlands.

Sequels for SC, GoW and Borderlands sequels??? Color me amazed :wtf: A bit of a yawn-fest on those, TBH. I haven't cared about those tired IPs for a while.

Rage is one of those games that failed in spite of having a lot going for it. The setting and concepts behind it could really work as long as some storywriters work on the game. The first one felt like a large engine demo (or even a shareware-style game) instead of a full game. I remember thinking I was finishing up the first half of the game...but that was it. Makes me curious if they'll bother making it a sequel or if they'll just start all over and just say it's in the same world. Who actually remember the plot anyway?

Borderlands 3 has a ton of appeal to me. I loved the first two. Just give me the same thing with better graphics and I'll give you my money.

Gears 5 doesn't need to happen yet if at all. They've run their course. There's nothing else to see or do. 4 made for a fun return to that world, but it brought nothing new to the table. Leave it alone until people start crying for nostalgia again.

Kinda surprised they said they would never make a BL3 game years ago but please let it be good if true

So, if Rage 2 is happening we might know about it soon. Bethesda tweeted this out at 5:14EST today
The clock, in a MM/DD format, reads 5:14, meaning Monday. That pink used is the same color the Rage Twitter used to mock Walmart. The Rage Twitter had been dormant for years and all of its Tweets deleted before coming online yesterday to poke at Walmart. Very interesting.

I wonder, with all the rage for the genre, they'll make Rage 2 into a Battle Royale game. Rage's post apocalyptic setting would fit in with a Battle Royale premise.

I don't see why they would. Bethesda is pretty committed to single-player games and I don't see them forcing ID into doing something like that.

I dunno, that recent new Quake game (with all the unique characters) seems positioned for the Overwatch crowd. I wouldn't put it past Bethesda to dedicate one of their existing IPs to a popular genre.

I'm ridiculously excited about both really.

I know it's not popular to like RAGE around here :p but I absolutely LOVE that game, and can't wait for a second one. If they fill out the story a lot better this time, and use the Tech 6 (or higher) engine, they really can't go wrong.

Wow, now I actually have a few things to be excited about aside from Cyberpunk, Doom and a few smaller indies.

Quake Champions is okish. I had a little fun playing an early version, and I imagine it's better now. It's no Q1 or Q3A as far as MP goes, but it was definitely fast, and fun if you got into a decent match. (which admittedly was very hit or miss when I tried)

What would be really nice though is a new Q1, Q2, Q4 style single player Quake.

There were some disappointing aspects of Blacklist, like the bugs, but it was still a huge improvement over Conviction. I liked it enough that I'd welcome a new game with the same format. The side missions which you had to do all in one go, were particularly challenging and required a ton of stealth.

Double Agent was a huge buggy mess of missed opportunities. The walking around in the enemy base part could've been epic, they missed a giant opportunity there, it only needed a few small tweaks and it could've been a game changer.

+1. RAGE got a lot of hate in the beginning; eventually it got patched up and resolved most of the issues. I played through it a few years ago and had a blast, but I'm also a huge Borderlands 1 fan and there was definitely crossover there in terms of environment and theme.

I suspect a lot of the people that parroted "yeah Rage suxx" never even played it, but bandwagons are cool.

I'd absolutely buy RAGE 2.
