Hi,

Just ordered a 2700X and all to replace my 2500K and wondered if my trusty Corsair AX860 will be fine ?
I don't game much anymore but I still have 2x MSI 380 4GB in there that might suck some watts sometimes...

Anyway, current spec:
i5 2500K
ASUS Motherboard (Full size)
16GB RAM
3x HDD
1x SSD
2x 380 4G
DVD-RW
Some fans... (H80 closed loop)

Will change to:
Ryzen 2700X
32 GB RAM 3200 CL14
ASUS Crosshair 7 Hero
Will use the default cooler for now...

The Supply has been going strong since day 1 but I wonder if the change of component might compromise it ?
I used a calculator and it seems limit, worst case I could remove 1 video card I guess..

I do not plan on OC more than default of the chips itself and 2500K ran at 4.2GHz all this time.

Thanks !

You have more than enough power to overclock if you wanted to. 250 watts per GPU maximum overclocked, 140 watts CPU in worst case scenario, and 100 watts for everything else. 740 watts maximum overclocked. Stock you're looking at 600-650 watts maximum.

Excellent, I have a kill-a-watt, might measure what current setup drains at full load too.

Sorry didn't see your reply asking for the link. I would recommend searching on amazon.com as noted above.
Make sure you know "which" one you want... Those are limited in current... like your breaker.

Most common I guess is 15A 120VAC but if your breakers are 20A you might want to invest in that version. Also I didn't read but look for the Input voltage, 110V vs 220V (give or take) will have different version I suppose...

EDIT the one listed above is 125V & 15A.

This psu is more than enough. I'm using one with more demand, and it's held up for many years.

Should still be okay, based on the high quality build and release date of 2012 ish (maybe you purchased later) with 7 year warranty.

Thanks everyone, build is working fine... but to be honest I haven't even launched one game and didn't load it other than VMs... a fool and his toys ;)
CPUs seems pretty much the same wattage so I should be OK... I just feared the stress of brand new HW on old PSU components but yeah, this PSU is still within warranty and built well.

Thank you all,
