In the latest news from the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Mark Zuckerberg will testify before the House Energy and Commerce Committee on April 11 the committee announced on their website today. The announcement comes after lawmakers formally asked Zuckerberg to testify on March 23rd. E&C Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) and Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) stated:
“This hearing will be an important opportunity to shed light on critical consumer data privacy issues and help all Americans better understand what happens to their personal information online. We appreciate Mr. Zuckerberg’s willingness to testify before the committee, and we look forward to him answering our questions on April 11th.”
Hopefully we will get some answers. Facebook has also updated its Terms of Service today, when it comes to data collection, in the hopes to make things clearer. To me it's already pretty clear, they're going to take all the data they can and do everything with it they want.
