$800 - available now - 1 per customer

Ships in mid July

Looks like at current levels they'd make roughly $5.30 a day, and after .10kw/h electricity net $3.35
according to

You'd make about 4-5 Eth coins per year with each unit.

This is the equivalent to about six RX580 8GB GPUs. So yeah it's a good deal for Eth mining, but it's not an outright GPU killing ASIC this time.

Just about where I though it would land on performance based on the leaked specs. Price is surprising.

It wouldn't be beyond belief if ETH just went PoS before they ship, just to prove a point.

this is less power efficient than 6x rx 480/580s. my rx 480 did 30.5 Mh/s @ 85 watts, so 6x85w = 510w. so E3 around 300 more watts than gpu equivalent. so extra ~$270/ year electricity. also no resale value. so bad deal even if ETH POS is delayed another year which gets into iffy assumption territory by summer next year.

edit: yea, I'd rather have a 6x gpu rig than this E3. the rig will have less power, less heat and less noise as well as cost less after resale. Also I guess when ETH goes POS there will be a fork as well.

Never mind the flexibility of mining something else with the 6x 480/580s should another option be more worthwhile.

frankly these specs are about the same as my 4x Vega 64 system. I draw 840watts for 175 mhash ethereum. My system draws a bit more power because I have a ton of watercooling pumps/fans, etc but I know that people that ran a bare bones Vega 64 in open air could use 140w for 44mhash per card. Of course, the price is much cheaper than 4x vega 64, but you have to worry about a hardfork, ether going POS, etc.

I don't think I'd buy one of these, too many unknown variables that could stop this from making ROI.

Meh, no way I'd buy an ASIC for mining Ethash...especially if I'm not going to get it for over 3 months.

Increased limit from 1 to 5 units on batch 1. They must not be selling as hotly as Bitmain hoped.

price is $1800 now for "batch 2" which seems to be release around same time, maybe a week later. no pics now. get the feels they are but hurt.

honestly they're just not worth abandoning 580's. They failed to blow away GPU's. They have to get at least double the performance per dollar of running a year for anybody to consider locking into something that will at some point be nothing but a paperweight.
