tiny GTX 1080 $640

Lol no these are full GTX 1080s this one is like the zotac mini which I have and pretty much runs and OC like a full length card. You will probably be limited by the cooler than the card

I have the 'tiny' though the actual term used by vendor is mini (form factor) 1070 from gigabyte and zotac. Both are a 1.5 years old; from reviews et all they run at full speed+ but can't be manually over-clocked well. For myself I've had almost no problems. The zotac suffered from some issue (maybe the ram bug) but a firmware update fixed my issues (zotac support knew what the problem was and supplied the firmware). While the zotac runs in a windows box the gigabyte runs in a linux box.

I know this thread is about the 1080 version which came out a few months later. The thing about the 1070 and 1080 is they run a lot cooler than the gtx 970/980 due to die shrinkage and that is what makes it feasible to offer them on smaller cards.

btw when did these things get so expensive ?

You got these little beasts.... and then you have Zotac on the other end with triple slot implementations like their Amp! Extreme models.

I've got a few 1070 and 1070 Ti Mini Zotac cards, and they are not only the full-fat deal but they also tend to maintain similar thermal performance relative to their regular/large-sized brethren.
