AMD - NVIDIA and GPU Development Deceleration

Pretty sure it's not nvidia that's price gouging. It's the retailers selling the cards to consumers.

if there IS a company to find a way to leverage profits it would be Nvidia, look at all the other BS they have done for many reasons both legit and otherwise, G-Sync, Phys X, Gameready,. I can picture exactly Nv doing this, talking out of one side of their mouth (like they area) while they go to the bank with the fat load of $$$$$$.....Nv is quite "known" for being quite specific to partners/vendors of what they may, should, or should not charge for their products, and while the independent seller small or large "claims" one thing, often it actually is doing another (via behind the door corporate talking)

AMD is hard to say, am sure they want the coin, but, am also quite certain they do not want to be back in the position they had themselves in for a very long time (partially Intel fault, some of their own for not taking full advantage of situations when they were "ahead" of the game)

Wonder if all of this has caused anyone to cave and buy a Titan V for gaming?

I hope not! but i now multiple people who went ahead and bought the stars wars Titan Xp since it was the only one in stock at nVidia and was about the same price as the 1080ti was going for at the time.

In a round about way this might be an opportunity for AMD to pull ahead if they can sufficiently ramp up their manufacturing to keep up with the demand for both miners and gamers. I doubt that will happen, just a thought.

Right now, NVIDIA has a competitive advantage, sales aren't declining, and their cards are flying off the shelves. They have no incentive to bring out a new GPU.

If AMD brought out something that compares at or above NVIDIA's offerings and drops sales to their cards or sales start dropping (neither of which I think will happen soon), then they might have something. As it stands, it'd be bringing something out for the enthusiasts and miners but with no real financial gains for NVIDIA. Regardless, they'll be selling out of whatever they are offering.

I'd love to see new GPU's come out. I think everyone would. But, it doesn't make financial sense for NVIDIA or AMD.
How are they going to continue milking current product when the fabs have reportedly not been producing Pascal for 3 months?

On the one side, that sucks. On the other side, maybe that will give display makers the time to actually release monitors worth using @ 4k.
