Hello everyone, i`m new to this forum, and with the necessary apologies i must ask for your help on my very first post here....

i recently got my hands on 3 Sapphire RX Vega 56 Nitro+ graphic cards, already having the rest for my mining rig i set out to setup my mining rig, be it monero eth or some of these easy to mine easy to dump shitcoins that come out every day.

Smooth sailing i say....WRONG !

Cannot pass the bios flahing from 56 to 64 step. Every time i flash the card either does not appear in the windows or it crashes it, tried flashing one by one, with and without comand lines, flashed them on risers, on pcie 16x slot, bios set pcie speed gen1, then get2, then auto, i enabled above 4GB ,,dunno the rest of the option name in mobo,, , I got to a point where i thought i destroyed one of the cards, as it did not boot anymore , not even with the secondary bios (the card has dual bios and it can be booted flipping the switch on it) tried researching similar situation on forums and you tube, nothing, big pain in the a$$ ... dunno what i`m doing wrong.

Here`s my config :
Asrock 110HS Pro BTC mobo
2600 w Dual HP Server Grade PSU
1TB HDD (i know, not a ssd, i had one laying around)
8 GB Ram DDR4
Windows 10 64 bit

Mining with stock bios is not an option for me, not in these market prices.
I`m contemplating selling them and getting 2 1080 ti`s instead for that money - don`t want to do this as i would overpay for these cards...but i will if i have no soltuion to my problem...
If anyone is willing to help me, please do so, i`ll send them a lot of beer if its possible and if it solves my issue.

Pm me both the original vbios and the one you are trying to flash

Did you patch the driver's after you flashed the new bios?
I flashed, and booted trying to see if it registered as a vega 64, and can`t even see the damn thing, eventually when the system sees it , it usually crashes windows, I get no chance to use ddu before crash

did you verify the memory could handle the higher speeds?

I found no point in flashing my 56's to 64's. I haven't looked in probably a good 6 months or so though.

How can u verify if the memory can handle the speeds of a 64?

You can check with GPU-z. If it's samsung then you got a good card. I got 2 Nitro 56 with Hynix and I couldn't get passed 900 + memory without crashing and just settled with 880mhz but both cards do 1820 h/s and using softmod table. I also have an MSI 56 with samsung memory and it can do 950 memory with 1950- 1970 h/s.

overclock the card using any of the utilities out there.

V64 has looser memory timings than V56, though, so you're VERY unlikely to hit V64 memory speeds on a V56 with V56 bios.

In my experience with a V56, though, there's really nothing to be gained for mining by flashing to the V64 bios.

Ok. As it turns out i have hynix mem on all 3 of them. F..ck my luck. So stock bios it is. Also u can consider this thread solved. I cannot flash them because of their memory, end of story. A very big thank you for all of you. Mkrhon was on the money on this. So as promissed if i can i will send beer to ur adress.

^^I said something like this too... I tried when I first got the card because mining on them was still really early on. It was insanely hard to get these mining properly the first few months they were out.
