So I tried out the DIYINHK PWM mod on my old bmaverick ddc1's. While it works, they are still too noisy for my liking. So I went looking for a deal on a dual d5 setup.

So this seller is selling multiple (more than 10) Koolance RP-452x2 dual bay reservoir with 2 pumps included. I messaged him to make sure the pumps were included. The pictures show swiftech mcp-655-b pumps. They are used, but for anyone looking for a cheap upgrade for their water setup. Well. I wanted PWM, but I just couldn't pass a price like this up. 2 d5 pumps and a reservoir for $115

My D5 pump is like 12 years old and is still pumping just fine! Unless they are gummed it a used D5 will probably still be more reliable than most other pumps hah.

Mine just arrived with a pair of mcp655 Varios. I'll hook them up tomorrow night and see how they do.

So would this be a decent base to getting a water cooled setup started? And would it fit in a smaller case? These kind of look big...

On second thought, its a MCP655-B so no control. How did you get a vario, Naieve?

It's probably overkill but I like having the comfort of two pumps. If one dies you know your system wont burn up.

Fitting it is a problem. You'd need to think out how you arrange things before buying

That is a stock photo of what they have. They sent me varios.

I have these running in my system right now. Dialed in and super quiet. Running perfect. Package arrived a tad wet. They were tested before shipping.

Some people don't like dual pumps. Overkill. But I've had a pump die before, so I love it.

This really seems like something to bite on. Wish I had seen this during the 20% off thing and while I was ordering other w/c parts.

Well I bit. I wouldn't mind having spare pumps either for a failure or for more silly projects. Maybe my ITX build coming up needs dual pumps just because.

Does anyone have an explanation for why someone would have 10+ used dual pump bay reservoirs?

It's a Corsair Air 240. I haven't looked at the dimensions of these, but just at a glance somehow I don't think they'd fit...
That's a weird case. I don't think you'll get it to fit in the intended fashion. If you were OK with just hanging it or something, it might be OK - but you'll have some fun with rotaries and angle fittings, most likely.

Its ok though, I had to cut my case up to get the radiator to fit :)

Update for those of you still interested I also got a pair of vario D5s with the reservoir when it arrived today and honestly outside of the part where it's still got a bit of liquid inside and the tubing was cut instead of pulled off you would think it is all new. A great deal IMO.
