Did you drill holes for the mounting?
 
My sf450 is the loudest thing in my case by far. Using a 1060 strix capped to 30% fan speed and l9i with low noise adapter.
Is there any hope for that fanless silverstone coming out soon?
 
keep hearing mixed opinons on corsair sfx...i have a silverstone sfx in my ncase m1 build..wanted to try the corsair in my a4

While that would be nice, I wouldn't count on it. A more realistic solution would be seen a few posts above. You can see a Be Quiet psu with a replaced fan in favor of a noctua one.

I replaced my SF600 fan for a slim noctua 92mm fan. You can either choose to plug it into the internal psu fan header (needs adapter), or you can route the fan cable directly to a motherboard header (I reccomend this so you can make sure the psu is getting propper air flow)

The only part I don't like about mine is the cables. Stiff, messy, and a bit too short. I tried to route my 24-pin behind the motherboard for clean aesthetics, but man it proved practically impossible with the corsair wires. They just never want to lay down flay and uniformly.

I am waiting for the SFX-L psu from EVGA, which should be based on the SuperFlower design. The Corsair cable are indeed really stiff and annoying to route, while the Silverstone 450w Gold Modular psu already had trouble running my PC build (see signature) after four years.

I would think about RMA'ing your PSU. Turn up the volume and hear the absolute silence of my SF600 in my previous build:

Sorry, didn't mention that it's only in gaming load. The pus is completely silent at idle. My system only pulls about 200-250w and in gaming load the psu keeps ramping up over 20 mins and gets very loud at the end, like 2.5k rpm or higher.

I get that. I actually bought some acrylic (non-conductive) tweezers because I was paranoid up first too. Something to consider

The big deal is that by opening the casing of the PSU you not only void your 7-year Corsair warranty but possible risk an electric shock!
Not everyone wants to modify internal components.
A Corsair PSU that is not dead silent (even on full load) obviously - in my eyes - has an issue that is covered by Corsair's warranty.

I have a question for the folks who replaced the fan with a Noctua A9x14 on the SF450:
Did you use the FLX Version or PWM?
Do you have a "wobbling" fan on low load? (the fan spins up, but hasn't enough power to get going)

You Cant get that fan in 3pin e.g. FLX version but only pwm
 
But i have replaced mine, before the SF600 fan was the loudest in my whole build, after the noctua fan replacement the psu is inaudible and the mod is not rocket sience you cant fuck it up, its just plug and play

Oh right, the A9x14 is only available as PWM. I already replaced the fan on my SF450 but on low load the fan just turns for a few degrees and stops (on higher load everything is fine).
And this is freaking me out, so I wanted to know if other people have the same behaviour.

That is normal, the issue was detailed in the SF600 thread.
There are two solutions,
1) If you are using the PSU header then use a NF-A9x14 bundled with the NH-L9i cooler. It won't have the same issue.
2) Just use a motherboard fan header

core i7 6850K OC'd to 3.9Ghz
32GB RAM OC'd to 2800Mhz
GTX 1080Ti
2x5TB HDDs
1x500GB NVMe SSD
1x500GB SATA SSD
Corsair SF600 with Noctua mod

I have used Dynatron T318 with a Noctua 2.5W fan as the CPU Cooler. I am getting great temps imo, 55-58C idle, 73-75C Gaming(Mass Effect Andromeda, Assassin's Creed Origins) and 85C AIDA64.

GPU Temps are 40-42C idle and 83-84C gaming/stress. This is an improvement over FE which went till 87C.

My build is very similar, except it's in an NCase M1. I have a 6800K OCed to 4 GHz with a 120mm AIO (I don't see the value of the 6850K here, it's not like you can use the lanes?). And I also have the Seagate 2.5" 5TB HDD, except I use it externally as a travel drive. They are 15mm, how did you mount 2 of them? It looks like you have a single drive under the PSU, or is that two?

You'd really benefit from the 92mm AIO if you're willing to put those HDDs in an external dual-drive enclosure.

Great job on the graphics card mod, it looks like you can tighten some of those zipties a bit.

They're both definitely under the psu. How the second one is mounted I can only speculate, but it looks like he might be using a bracket screwed to the side mounts on the bottom drive and the bottom mounts on the top drive, with the whole assembly attached to the bottom of the case via the bottom mounts on the bottom drive.

The CPU was first in an Ethoo Evolv with dual GTX 1080. Then I moved onto the Ncase M1 and now onto the Dancase. Not willing to give up HDD space :p
I have 2 drives under the PSU. the hard drive cage allows you to mount 2 drives.

Can't tighten the GPU fan zipties because they are under the fan and it won't go further. IK it looks it will but it really won't. Anyway, I am waiting for 92mm fan clips now and will be replacing the zipties soon

The hard drive cage easily allows you to mount 2. The top is attached to with the bottom screws, the bottom is attached to with the side screws and the cage is attached to the case with the cage's feet.

Great job. How did you connect fans to VGA? One of my VGA fan is abnormal. So I want to do that for my 1080 FTW. It can be disassembled fan cover without break guarantee seal.

Interesting decision to move to the A4-SFX from the M1, considering you clearly need lots of HDD space, you need to cool a 140W CPU, and you modded your GPU cooler to be quieter. In the M1 you could have done all 3 much better. This is why I chose the M1 for my system frankly, because of my X99 CPU and potential for HDD expansion. I get why you'd move from the Evolv to the M1, but why take the extra step to the A4-SFX? Do you need as portable a system as possible with a 1080 Ti? Or just an SFF enthusiast? :)

Anyway, please do post pictures of the GPU with the fan clips, I'm curious how it turns out.

Yea I travel internationally with this build and thus need max mobility. Also, I like stuffing big things into small spaces ;)

On a similar note, I gave away my M1 v5 for $50 for my mate's build we built together.

The Ncase stacking brackets attach to the side drive holes, due to the 15mm height the second set of holes will not clear the top of the drive. They are designed for 2 X 7mm.

Never seen the cage, so I didn't know that. If you got another cage could you stack them, or do the screw holes not line up?

Uhm what are the temps of i7 8700 with a window kit+air cooler? Anyone with this kind of set up? I plan on grabbing a i7 8700 non k with a Cryorig C7 copper (supposedly released this March) then undervolt it as I don't want to delid Thanks :D
