HP Omen 32 1440p Monitor [REFURB] - $239 shipped

I really enjoy the size and the aspect ratio on this monitor.

16:9 with 32" of real estate with 1440p vertical pixels and 20.6" physical vertical space just feels to be right in my viewing sweetspot.

The blacks are great and pictures and colors look super vibrant as well.

If I step up to 4k, I'll probably elect for a 32" 16:9 4k monitor as well. I don't want to deal with the image distortion of a curved screen. And any bigger than 32" would require me to drastically increase my viewing distance from the screen.

Now if you've been stuck at 1080p, this 1440p 32" monitor will be a HUGE upgrade for your eyes. At $225 it's a flat out steal. I paid ~ 330 NIB for it when it first came out. It was worth every penny. And now that I've owned it for over 2 years I still really can't complain about the sheer visual quality I'm getting out of it.

As some have mentioned though, you might have response time issues for framerates > 60 hz if you don't have a Freesync capable video card.

So my only wish is to find a way to 'hack' my NVidia card to do Freesync. Right now it's not really practical to switch to an AMD card as miners have skyrocketed the prices of all decent gpus on the market, amd and NVidia alike.

I have one delivering today and funds are tight but damn that is tempting to order another.

does this monitor come with a display port cable, and if not which one should i get ?

looking to replace my 27" ips korean monitor. I do have a 1080 but some of the posts here scare me.

Keeping it at 60hz is fine for the price. Will I regret grabbing one?

I am using one from this sale that besides the hp refurbished box seems to be new. I am using it with a quadro card and 60hz is fine. If you are a hardcore gamer or use to higher fps I would avoid.

I use this besides a 43" 4k monitor that is 60hz and it's great for productivity. I split the omen into windows for my coding and use the 4k for movies or secondary references. I can set 4 browsers at once on the 4k while coding on the omen. It is a very nice setup compared to my previous triple korean monitors.

I'm using this now - awesome monitor - I got mine for 309 as a refurb. I've never noticed any tearing on my 1080ti however my eyes are not as sensitive and I'm a bit of a peasant in that I'm content with 1440p at 60 frames. Mainly I use for development work.

got mine today, it seems in perfect shape, no dead pixels that i can see and no scratches that i noticed/

man i had to turn down the brightness to about 38 for now, but this screen is huge compared to my 1920x1200 old one LOL

i need to get a displayport cable as i dont think HDMI supports freesync ?

HDMI 1.4 supports freesync just fine. I have it on my gf's pc set to 75hz with freesync on. Apparently 83.3 is the max hz that can be pushed through hdmi 1.4 at 1440p. She has a 290x.

in my AMD control panel, under display, it says "AMD freesync not supported", maybe i need new video drivers as i am sure these are old as heck ?

it is enabled on the monitor though.

should i run Vsync and freesync at same time ?

You need to enable it on the monitor as well. Once its setup proeprly it will say AMD FREEYNC ON in huge letters on the top left corner. Then you can go into your display adapter and change to 75hz as it will default to 60hz.

***EDIT sorry i didn't notice you said you already did this, did it say freesync on? If so you probably do need newer drivers

I have a two screen desk holder right now with a 27" 1080 viewsonic and a Dell 24" 1080. What brand / type is your 43" tv 4K ?
Maybe I could use a 43" 4K and adjust the 2 monitor arm to the side.

At some point I'll drop some cash on a 144hz 1440 monitor with the HDR nVidia related montior that was is supposedly l appearing in 2018.

Now that this is back in stock.... Would you replace a Korean 27" 1440 IPS with the HP?

My Korean is about 5 years old and has a few stuck pixels.

well i installed new drivers and same issue, it must be this HDMI cable although HP says it should work on thier website, ordered a DP cable from monoiprice and will see what happens.

even in the AMD windmill demo it says freesync is not supported on this monitor or something like that

is freesync better than v-sync, or do they do the same thing ?

i kinda have to run BF4 at 60Hz anyways to hit a constant framerate on my R9 280X card.

These look to be back for $219.

Just bought 2 more.. at this price having 3 monitors just became a reality... hope that lil 980ti in my system is ready for the incoming beating... might need to look into a 1080ti...

How long does refurbforless take to ship? Ordered the Pavilion 32 inch as the OMEN was out of stock Friday night and still has not shipped.

Mine hasn't shipped yet and I ordered it on Friday. But it sounds like the seller isn't the quickest in getting things out which is fine with me. As long as I get it in the next couple of weeks I'll be happy. :) I'll update once it actually ships.

Seems WAY too good to be true. I can't fathom why anyone would sell these at $40 a pop, with free shipping, limit 1. Are they trying to get people's information some way?
This has been seen before. If you look at their feedback, it's random items as a buyer from a year or more ago. Obviously the idea of someone selling 4 of these with free shipping for $40 a piece is absurd. What's usually actually going on is that someone got their ebay account jacked and the scammer is trying to make a quick buck at the expense of the real account holder who is likely unaware of this.

Happens all the time with $100 1080ti video cards, $20 current gen i7 CPUs, $30 512GB name brand SSDs, etc. If all goes well, anyone buying will get their money back, likely scenario is buyers will be out $40 a piece which isn't a huge enough amount for most people to go file police reports and such and the scammer makes a few bucks while someone else's ebay account gets closed for fraud.

This there zero chance anyone would be selling a working one for $40 and pay the extra $40ish to ship this
