Kingdom Come: Deliverance

I was kind of debating grabbing this game just for the hell of it.

You guys think these screenshots look good? It looks ancient to me.... I dunno....

The game looks good. Not as good as Witcher for some things but it makes up for it in other ways. The forests are really nice. The only thing I think they mailed in are the dogs.

I like how your horse is closer by you in this game when you whistle with the Witcher the horse would be a mile away when you whistle.

The game is gorgeous when you start turning up eye candy. At times it's easy to mistake this for some AAA effort in certain situations. You have to try pretty hard to screw up with the CryEngine.

I was getting a crash to desktop on the quest, 'An Oath is an Oath' after speaking to Sir Robard, then cut scene is where it would crash. I started the quest during the night (vs during day), like 2200 and it worked. This was the only time I exp a CTD with the game. Just finished it... good fun!

Awesome!

Looks good.
'Alchemy bench will no longer shoot you into the air.' (and if you hit escape , you die when you fall back down) : this happened to me once, and I hadn't Savior'ed for a bit.

Has anyone else tried attempting non lethal combat against the aggressors in 'playing with the devil'?

>Some easily accessible trunks with extremely good loot have been removed.

uh, thanks?

Great game, 60 hours and no crashes here. I do have one quest which is bugged and I can't complete (find nightingales for Rattay Hunstman). I'd say I average about 60 fps at 3440x1440 with High settings, textures at ultra. Dips down in cities, goes higher in most outdoor areas.

Looking forward to trying out this new patch and to see if my bugged quest gets fixed. Also happy to hear about difficulty increase, the game starts out so difficult but as you get better at playing, get Henry more skilled, and put on the good equipment, it seemed the difficulty was all of a sudden too easy. I'd most recently cleared several Cuman camps around Talmberg area and I feel invincible.

I feel like I've been pretty thorough by and large and I'm not sure what they're talking about here but okey-dokey.

Today's patch really containts a lot of good stuff, luckily I've just started playing it when it still keeps recieving such important updates. :)

1.3 and still no official SLI support, even though the devs said it would support it. Anyone managed to get it working flawlessly?

That' pretty much any new game these days. Multi-GPU is dead. I imagine these guys being a small studio have bigger fish to fry right now than catering to an issue that affects a fringe of a fringe .

I had heard this game works with the Ryse profile but haven't tested myself.

Similar, I'm still level 5.
I've used my time testing what happens if I do different things and checking the countryside out.
Its a very nice game but has needed patching.
I encountered a few crashes, save game corruption and odd things happening.

A fair solution is to play at 1080p if your display doesnt mess it up.
I have it maxed with a 1080ti. Before this patch it was mostly smooth, parts of town centres excluded.
It should run a bit better now, i'll find out very soon.

I'm glad they addressed the balance (or imbalance) issue where once Henry gets a bit of experience the game became too easy...with 1.3 they nerfed some perks and fiddled with weapon scaling etc

So any feedback on 1.3? I'm avoiding it after reading the complaints on the forums.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Patch 1.4 To Optimize PC Multicore CPU Support

“We are already working on 1.4 that will hopefully improve performance on PC among other things”, creative director Daniel Vavra said on Twitter following the release of patch 1.3 yesterday...when asked whether the 1.4 patch will also tweak performance on consoles, Vávra replied that this might be the case, but it will be less visible than it will be on PC...

“Maybe, but less visible”, the creative director replied. “We made some mistakes in ultra-settings that were added in a hurry, so will fix those. Also, we will optimize multicore CPU support, which is already fine on consoles.”

Dot for the damn bow? I played a bit and headshot a dude but I still can't aim well without a dot.

The aim while fighting is annoying. You're pretty much moving after the first couple of shots on a npc or they are moving. I have a cross hairs mod and it still doesn't hit where I think it should. Like everything it's a skill you have to level to get accurate and better at but bow seems to a bit frustrating.
I try to kit enemies to level bow and it's work to level.

BTW for archery competitions don't worry about up and down so much as left and right. If you follow the bow/target movement when you draw it will follow left to right and land based on where your dot point starts. You can let it drift and find the sweet spot related to your draw. It works regardless of your bow skill.

So pick a point related to the target vertical and let the aim drift left or right and then wait till it hits it's outer edge and starts going the other direction. Basically it will continue going side to side until your stamina is gone. If you release before you've drawn at least to the minimum "full draw" then you will miss. So point the dot not at the center but on the same horizontal plain as the center or close and then wait till the dot gets close to center during the right to left drift and release.
Sorry if that doesn't make sense I have to think there's a video out there that shows this. Unfortunately I don't do videos.

So I just upgraded from a 6600k to an 8700k, with better KCD performance being the main reason. Apparently Kingdom Come didn't like the change and actually runs worse now (fresh W10 x64 install since new motherboard, so not that.) Anyone else experience something like this?

1.4 will address CPU core optimisations. In the mean time check to see if CPU core 2 is maxed at 100% in game. If it is, alt tab into task manager and turn off core 2 on the kingdom come exe then re-enable.

I kept telling myself that once the 1.3 patch hit I was going to buy the game...then they keep announcing more important features/bugs that will be fixed with the next patch making me continue to wait to play...next patch will have improved multi-core PC support along with other PC-centric improvements

seems like I'm going to play Far Cry 5 first and after that KC: Deliverance will most likely be in an ideal condition to finally play

Runs decently for me on GTX 970 & i5-8600K @ 4.8GHz. Using Ultra settings and 1080p. I thought I'd need a GPU upgrade but due how pricing is and how it actually runs which is good enough, I'll wait for now.

Some of the bugs are kinda funny (if still annoying). During the Charlatan quest in Sassau I accidentally got my reputation there for villagers to 0 (knocked a guy out who wouldn't gtfo out of the church). I read online to punch a guard and do jail time to "restore" it. I punch a guard and choose jail. I'm waiting out the jail time and during it the guards come in and tell me I broke the law by not using a torch at night and added another day to my jail time. LOLwtf? I've had the guards break into the inn in that town while my character was sleeping to say I've broken the law for not using a torch at night. They're fuckin' serious about the torches at night...

One really annoying bug is in the inn at Talberg. The NPC stands inside the door and blocks access to the sleeping area if you rent a room for the night. I have had to skip up to 4 in game hours they walk away on their own.

1.3.1 has a bug in combat for "invert" mouse people. It now applies invert mouse to the combat attack selector which screws everything up to the point that I can't even do combos anymore. Thank God I bought the GoG version and can go back to v1.2.5 because it's unplayable unless I can correct it. You can't invert a onscreen prompt without inverting the dam prompt, the thing is like a QT event prompt that means the opposite of what it's asking you for.

So I just beat the main quest, and damn, I cannot say that I'm happy with how this one ends. I SERIOUSLY hope DLC for this game simply extends the story, cuz damn.

I've got 69 hours in it according to Steam / 49 hours on the save, have an absolute SLEW of side missions and activities I didn't complete. I guess I had no incentive to complete any of them.. My character is already OP at level 19, I have 22k in the bank, no need for any gear or really anything to spend the coin on, and the missions just didn't interest me.

I would almost recommend NOT going for the various treasures on the maps. I feel like before I got all that stuff I still had some fun looting and grinding for better gear. Once you get that stuff the only thing to buy really is a top tier horse which is only like 2k. I guess once I got to that point my only interest was in the main story.

Overall though, one hell of a game! (Minus the various bugs you all are sure to be aware of.)

Tip of the hat to Warhorse Studios!

Saw some small update come through this morning. No idea what for.

I'd prefer having 0.5GB on my SSD back!

edit
Checking pre and post patch folder sizes they are almost the same so I take it back :)

I'm a monk at the monastery now, such is my lot in life. Seriously though any gaming the past 3 days has been in that damn monastery, and probably well over a week in actual game time. Without getting into spoilers I do know how to get out but have been trying to find a different way to resolve things. I've done my best with this game to ignore spoilers and avoid looking online when I get stuck on a quest, and in the spirit of the save system I try and accept results even when I've screwed up. The bugs with quests are sometimes severe enough that I have looked online because I'm never sure if something is broke or if the correct action is just very obscure.

Still on my first playthrough but I could easily see myself trying two more, one as a true chivalrous knight who never would forget his honor, and one as a total scoundrel. Current playthrough has me being mostly a good guy but I've made a few questionable choices.

One thing I don't understand is rabbits and poaching. I thought the codex mentioned that rabbits could be hunted by peasants but when I loot rabbits the meat and such is almost always marked as stolen.

Same here. My pickpocketing, lockpicking, stealth, and speech are high enough I will be able to shortcut through some of the bloat in this. Playing this game like Thief when I can is going to pay off dividends here.

I suspect you have seen some of that on the Internet via walkthroughs just as I have because yes, I did want to speed it up a bit.

Same here. I definitely see multiple replays on this for me.
