Moto Z phones have massive battery problems

I guess this is only for the regular Z and not the Force or Play? My wife's Z Play has been great; still gets about 10 hours SoT in a charge and is virtually impossible to kill within a day.

Yes, majority are pure Moto Z though I think there were a couple of people also from a thicker models with bigger batteries.

Z2 play here. Battery is AMAZING. I can get 40 hours out of it with moderate to heavy use between charges.

Yeah, mine Moto Z had amazing battery life with Incipio Battery mod but it all gone when battery just died and I needed to RMA the phone.

That might explain why Lenovo Motorola is not responsive in a light of massively dying Moto Z phones:

I heard that the X line is pretty much done for also. They canceled the X5.

I RMAed my Moto Z due to battery problems and it takes them already almost 2 moths to get fixed under warranty. I am still without the phone. No more Motorola for me

I was really thinking about picking up the Android One version of the x4. It sounds like the manufacturer is responsible for the updates unlike Google with the pixel even on the Android One line. If they are laying people off en masse, I have a feeling updates are going to be questionable and pretty much one update and buy a new phone like a lot of other Android phones.

I guess they're hit or miss, cuz my friend RMA'd his Moto X on the last day of it's warranty and got a replacement the following week. Usually they just send out a refurb'd phone, so maybe they didn't have any in stock for you and had to repair it themselves. Either way though, that's way too long. I'd be blowing their phone/email up constantly asking wtf is going on.

I've had 2 different Motorola phones with battery issues, both within 1 year of ownership. One was the original Moto G LTE, and I don't remember the other one. The explanations I got from the Moto reps when I had to exchange under warranty were pathetic and insufficient, so I will not buy another Moto.

After seeing the recent issues with the Z, I am very happy with my decision.
