so i guess i'm the only one that didn't know frozencpu was/is back in business?

anybody ordered from them recently? if so how'd it go? everything legit?

I've seen that their website was up and updating for a while now, but have not made any orders

I've ordered from them, not recently by any means, but not a day or two after I ordered, I saw on this forum somewhere that they'd shut down. I checked their website then and they were still up... I'm wondering if rumors about their disappearing were exaggerated, at least a little bit.

The owner going on a drugged up rampage trashing the place was so extreme there is no way ti could be exaggerated. A quick google of "frozencpu" or frozencpu owner trashes" will give you lots of images.

His wife posted up on Facebook , but as far as I know she was not there when it happened. The story I got was Mark got extremely mad, fired a couple of people and everyone walked out with those he fired, then he went berserk and trashed the place. If not high at the time I'm sure drugs contributed significantly to it. The fact everyone walked and none went back speaks volumes about their relationship with owner / boss.

That happened over 3 years ago (Feb 2015) and as far as I know very few if anyone has been buying from them .. I know of nobody who has bought anything in the last 3 years, but many who did before.

Wow. Bummer.

I wasn't around then. All I know is I ordered stuff from them when people were saying "they're shut down," and I got the stuff I ordered. Perhaps they came back quietly when they reopened, or maybe people just didn't bother to check, but... therein lies the reasoning behind my calling it "exaggerated."

I've seen drug abusers reform and be great people, so might be good place to buy from again.

My guess is they came back as good and fast as they could. My guess is their creditors were after their money too, and because of drug problems, rehab, none of orginal employees to run things it was a very hard up-hill battle trying to get anybody to buy from them again. It takes a lot of work to get a reputable business going and it can all be gone in minutes when something like this happens.

I don't think there was much exaggeration involved. They were definitely down for some time. and are definitely coming back slowly or we would be hearing more about them making it back.

I don't know what happened to the people who had orders in process when it all came tumbling down, but my guess is it wasn't pretty. But I have no proof and only a very few who post up sense saying they have bought from them. again. They may be a good reliable place to buy from. We need more people like yourself posting up their experiences with FrozenCPU in last couple of years to find out if they really are back and a good place to buy from.

i bought form them about 18 months back for some red translucent tubing in 10mm OD i needed for a non-computer project. there shipping rate was way high for an overnight, but other than that, had no issues with the order.

How about you re-read and try to understand what I said. Nothing there condoning drug use. All I said was FrozenCPU had been a good business (as in a good source of computer products) before owner went off the deep end and lost it.

I think way too many people depend on mind drugs (including alcohol) to function in modern society, including alcohol. I think the world would be a much better place if none of them existed.

Annnyywaaayyyy... taking Doyll's advise:

I've bought from them since the incident. Quick order fulfillment, fast shipping, will check them out again next time I have a project brewing.

I never had a problem with any of the 20+ orders i made with them over the years, ordered tubing for them a couple of months ago with no issues.

One time I bought a case fan from them that wouldn't give me an R.P.M. reading to my motherboard! The thing is, I needed that specific feature at the time! The funny thing is that I ended up removing all the fans from my desktop anyway, so now I don't even need it anymore.

glad to hear they are doing well. I am looking to do some upgrades to my loop. will be using them again. they were my goto place back b4 the shutdown. (even have a t-shirt!) :joyful:

thanks!

They always had up like some fancy waterblock or high end air. You actually bought some shit there? lol

Huh? Lol.

I've always had incredible experiences with FCPU, even shipping to Canada (which is expensive, yes). I'm glad to hear they may be a reputable source, since I refuse to support PPCs. Canadian vendors have somewhat limited stock capacity.

This used to be THE place to go buy high-end cooling products that the egg wouldn't stock or were out of. IIRC, [H] used to link to them WAY back when. Glad to see them still afloat.

I don't know they trying to sell some fancy water block or heatsink...when there's like hardly no difference...tried out some 20$ china copper water block hardly any difference...I think it's a hair hotter actually...and kinda ignorant on the mounting/standoff small spring and you need a pair of pliers to tighten the whole thing....nicely done copper base though and haven't tried the gallium on it yet, I should. but about the same with mx4....

idling like 30-35c and loaded 70-75c about normal dude... the gallium man...don't feel like taking the shit all apart again right now though...

Gotta Pump Upgrade coming too a littleee more 500L/H.

be honest the EK block is a little restrictive looks like...but seemed to do a hair better loaded...

I don't know mannn...find a Block you think is better...

You get what you pay for.

Nah I changed it out now got the gallium on it...and it's already looking greaaat...idling around 30c more...not even cured in yet...telling ya the block isn't THAT significant I mean to a point...

It is, but if yours preforms well, and doesn't fail (plating, orings, etc) in the first year, you gambled and won. When you buy a Chinese knock-off, the things you aren't paying for are usually the engineering to design the block (because it was probably aped from a well designed product) and quality control. And service after the sale, too... not a huge factor for waterblocks but it's nice to know you can call someone with questions or issues.

Personally, if I'm flowing water through it when it's sitting on my $360 processor on my $150 motherboard directly over my $600 graphics card... I'll pay the extra $50 to get a waterblock I can trust. YMMV.

Yeah I can understand that...but the stuff is made fairly well now the quality looks surprisingly good for a cheap block...yeah the top/housing is probably and looks like a softer plastic...but got the threads spot on and right surprisingly again. Now if it's all as leak proof time will tell. The copper itself is of pretty good quality...hard to pass up a block for so little. I have a bigger bone to pick with just the mounting, no back plate you just make the standoff with the screws and springs and nuts...it works just really got to tighten it down like I said...

If it's pretty leak Proof and turns out to be, I'll be more impressed I mean it's a 20$ Block...but literally about the same performance of much more expensive blocks...

well according to Science or something you should have a Copper Block/Base and all the Aluminum to dissipate...but again could get a copper Rad and still probably wouldn't see much a difference...

Well why the hell have we not really made Shit? you know...while china kicking our ass slinging out all kinda ok WC stuff...
that said they've improved on quality stuff tremendously. You can get good Pump's from over there for next to nothing...hard to beat man.

I don't know nothingggg though talking about drugs and trashing houses haha

I wont be using the site.

Some time before the store imploded I had a credit card issue (debit card declined despite funds available and the card working elsewhere) and had some highly obnoxious emails, rude, contentious and just plain uncouth language, when I attempted to resolve the matter.

I have a choice and someone there burned the bridge.

sad to hear that..I thought they had some cool stuff... got some good and ok deals on tubing, but ordering clear tubing doesn't look good either people here about smart enough to think you're cooking dope in the house or something lol

Besides though WC is wayyy more standardized now a lot more doing it now and doing that yeah just throwing together whatever butchered loop mixed metal loop and whatever fittings etc.

After the problems exhibited by FCPU before and during their meltdown, I'd have real problems trusting them again...

I was going to write a long winded post about Mark but cokehead seems to fit just fine.

Hope that DUI worked out Marky Mark.

Mark’s previous handy work.
