Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Started playing the game recently (bought GoG version which was released 27th) and been really sucked into the game so far, really my kinda game. What's the singlehandely most satisfying experience is the lack of constant "holding-hand" everytime & all the time. It doesn't give you arrows and highlited stuff of the next waypoint / objective so you really feel like being part of it as a result as you for once have to figure out yourself at least some things how to do it. How I miss the times when all games were like this!

The story also grabbed me right away.

BTW, I play it on the ultra high settings on 1080p with only a GTX 970 (+8600K @ 4.8GHz) so that suprised me, sure it slows down a bit in towns but for the most part it feels perfectly playable.

I wasn't suggesting rushing; my comment was simply that it sounds like PC version //is already done// but being withheld while Sony and MS certify the patch on their crapboxes.

If they're continuing to bugfix PC version up until console patch is done certifying, cool, but that doesn't usually happen. I understand why they sync the release - because otherwise the PC patch makes the headlines "new KC:D patch is out" and then confused console kids start screaming and bad PR ensues. But I don't have to like it. :D

I don't think this is the case...the PC patch will get pushed out first...the Xbox version is still on version 1.2 (compared to 1.25 on PC and PS4) so MS certification takes longer

Anyone speak Slovak?

I'm about 3 hours in So far just a big cut scene but entertaining I stole two bows and two arrows from the storage I'm sure they both suck compared to what you get later on.

LOL I hear ya!

I asked the guy to teach me the pick pocket skill, we go to the back where no one can see us and I just can't seem to succeed properly at all, but then all of a sudden I succeed then the guy starts walking away and complaining about waiting for me then turns around says hey that's mine and starts running away calling for the guards. WTF man you're the one teaching me. :ROFLMAO:

Almost the same happened to me, he called the guards so I loaded a save.
The 'key' to starting a pick is let the first part travel past the marker, this determines how long you get to grab the loot.

How high level do you have to have maintenance to actually be able to repair armor? I can never repair shit. I have it up to 12 from grinding away on swords, and stuff still has to be at like 90% to repair.

Anyone have this happen? (Nest of Vipers Spoiler)
I 1 hit Runt, found this fight very underwhelming. Not sure if it was intended to be a 1 hit kill, thinking it's a bug.

I think you're meant to fight him a lot earlier than most people get around to.

I just realized the net is full of videos of the glitches and bugs in this game. And it's still considered a success, despite looking like it's almost unplayable. Double standards hard at work I guess.

I don't mind a few glitches when the game is fun, especially from a small studio. This isn't EA with 2 billion dollar budgets and a team to rival a small government working on it.

Appearances can be deceiving. The game has plenty of small bugs, but I've only encountered a few of them in the 90 hours I've got in the game currently, and none of them have had any real impact on how good this game is.

I'm thinking about starting a new game now that I've got the combat figured out, I feel like I leaned too heavily on the bow (plus I screwed up by not doing enough side-quests earlier in the game and they're gone now.) I used to dread running into 3 or 4 bandits, now I roam the countryside looking for cuman camps just so I can try out different weapon types - the war hammer is by far my favorite. I just wish I could leave the *new* Henry the 125,000 groshen I've accumulated.

I only ran into a few minor bugs, the most annoying one is sometimes you cant climb stairs (kills my immersion!). Other than that the game is very playable and there's supposed to be a patch this week or next that fixes a good amount of problems.

It's still a $60 game, why does it matter who is behind it? I don't think it's fair to judge a game differently based on the publisher. That's exactly why I mentioned double standards.

Going by the number of vids about glitches out there it seems to me the game has plenty of not so small bugs. There are channels out there dedicated to showing off the weekly compilations of bugs from this game. Headless people, npc's and the player randomly floating off the the ground, npcs walking into each other, walking backwards, or not walking at all. Corpses standing up for a few seconds, and so on. I haven't played it because the combat looks extremely boring and tedious in it, but from what I saw it has a few magnitudes more bugs than what I'd consider acceptable in a $60 game.

Sure if everyone who played the game encountered all of the bugs it'd be a "wait until it's patched" game, but not everyone will encounter all of the bugs being made into these compilations (or likely even most, I've only encountered one of the bugs you listed - if I fast travel AND am attacked AND I equip a particular sword AND THEN get de-horsed, I levitate until I get back on my horse.)

I've encountered a few bugs but none of them have been showstoppers.
Reloading a save fixed them.
I am happy to play this game now, bugs and all.

If you want a bug free experience or less bugs, do the same as you should with any game, wait a few months.
You might get it cheaper as well.
By all means make your point but ffs stop whingeing.

Yeah, and I already got 100+ hours of fun out of it, to be honest the most fun I've had in a game in many years. The last $60 EA game I bought was some battlefield crap that I played for 30 minutes and got sick of because it was garbage. Why are you here to whine about the price if you didn't buy it, or the bugs if you haven't played it anyways?

Quoting myself, still haven't gotten high enough to repair stuff. Anyone know?

Never played an Elder Scrolls game I take it? Those games are always full of bugs, created by a big studio, are massive successes, and have the same price point to boot.

What repair kit? I'm up to maintenance 19 iirc and I can repair stuff down to 50-60% with the full-sized repair kits.

Ok, I'm at 12 maintenance, so looks like I just need to keep grinding that out and eventually it will let me repair higher damaged items, from a lower and lower quality? Does the main level have anything to do with it? I think I am only level 7 or 8...

Anyone try this mod

I've gotten to a point where I'm finding things too easy. I ran through Pribyslavitz like a tank and hardly needed help. I one hit runt. It unfortunately wasn't a very epic encounter. I'm going to install this and probably start a new game.

The game starts well and is very challenging but then about when I hit level 13-14 things started getting to easy combat wise. Even things like economy, reputation and other skills seem trivial and unnecessary to worry about. I still love the game with that said.

The mod potential is exciting and it's supposed to be officially supported in 1.3. Apparently there are similarities to Witcher that have let modders figure out how to change core aspects of the game already.

I'm hearing that a lot...seems like the game is very challenging only in the early goings and then you become God-like...a rebalancing sounds like a good idea for a future patch

Yea it sucks, I was one hit killing people by the end of the game. I would just finish the main storyline and come back in a few months when the game is finished and it will probably be a whole new game by then.,

It would be nice if a patch leveled the enemies along with you (at least some of them, I would still expect to breeze through a few highway men with carpenter's axes.) I can only agree that by the time I got comfortable with melee weapons I had leveled up to the point that I couldn't find a challenging fight. At this point I'd need to face 5-6 cuman commanders at once to even break a sweat, most of the time I one hit two or three enemies in a camp and the rest flee forcing me to chase them down on horseback since I'm petty like that. ;)

Finally got past the opening credits I have 6 hours in now I need a sword seems like the character wants the main quest one and I don't have a horse either.

You can buy a sword in that town (and other essentials) and at least temporarily you could sneak and steal a horse somewhere if you're desperate. Otherwise if you kick off the main quest, pretty early, they set you up with a horse and some essentials.

Way more Gold then I have at start lol

I ended up buying Roach as my first horse, I think I got him for like 1k with my trade in and haggling. Even though he is like Tier 2 or 3, still has some pretty good stats. Still using him like 30 hours later. I don't feel as if I need to swap him out for anything better.

I was thinking this game could use a princess bride mod. I want to see Fezzik and Inigo Montoya running around. Instead of Henry you could be Inigo Montoya growing up to be a master swordsman looking to kill the 6 fingered man. You could have Fezzik as a companion.

I'm not saying you're entirely wrong, but when anyone offered any of the above defenses for ME:A they were booed into oblivion (yes, pun intended). And from what I saw that game had way less and not as serious bugs as this game has. And btw the "if you haven't purchased it you don't get a say" is kindergarten level reasoning.

One thing I didn't anticipate with this game it's has lots of cut scenes I suppose that is ok but it just structures the game. Unless I barly scratched the surface I switched from controller to mouse and keyboard because the menus were driving my crazy with the controller. Combat isn't bad with the mouse I just thought it would of been easier with a controller but it's just as nice with a mouse.

A lot of the difference in reception might be that Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a new IP, so there weren't as many expectations about the game, whereas Mass Effect was a well established and loved IP and ME:A was a letdown in comparison to the rest of the series.
