Metal Gear Survive Is Charging $10 For a Second Save Slot

Couldn't you just move your current saved game to a different directory and boom another save?

It probably stores save in user account on their server (like MMO's where you do also pay for extra character slots but typically do get more than one from the start lol), so I doubt that will work. If it's local then yeah, you could just backup save folder.

The difference is that Konami won’t care. Pretty sure they just want to get back to make pachinko machines.

Outside of MGS they haven't made a game worth playing in what seems like decades.

Arcade games only in Japan are pretty much the only games they've had worth playing in the past decade. It really does seem like they just want to go back to only making products for Japan and only make the most lucrative games for the world, which is MGS, Evolution Soccer, and Yu-Gi-Oh.

At least we still have Kojima Productions.

Never seen a company try to cash out it's license faster then this. Right after kojima left they make a open world zombie, survival, crafting game that's always online stripped out everyting good about MGS:V gameplay it even looks worse graphically and is full of micro transactions.

I hope the full nerd rage force of the Internet comes to bear on them for this. This is so abusive, it makes Battlefront 2's microtransactions seem like charity.

It doesn't need nerd rage.

What it needs is just for no one to buy the game. If sales are disappointing because of this, it won't happen again.

If people keep paying up no matter what, the abuses are just going to get worse.

Nerd rage doesn't do shit unless it hits them in the wallet.

nerd rage can review bomb it though

I'd imagine he means sharing login details, so you can play the games (or DLC) that don't support family sharing.

So he is replying to my statement putting words into my mouth that I never stated to begin with as I said only to then comment against the made up statement? gotcha.

And to think, this is the company that gave us the likes of Silent Hill. How the mighty have fallen.

By nerd rage I mean spreading the word, keep the discussion going, make sure gamers are aware of this shittiness and therefore don't buy it. Can't just jump to the destination (e.g. not buying it) without making the journey (i.e. awareness).

(Edit) Angry Joe nailed it:

Really, they remove your account for using this feature? http://store.steampowered.com/promotion/familysharing

That is fucked up. Can you give me some examples of people who lost their accounts for using that?
It's OK for a certain number of family members, more than that I am sure they reserve the right to close your account. I didn't read the agreement for steam too closely way back when. I would expect if they see too many logins they didn't like, they could close it if they wanted, it's their company.

They only let you share with 5 people. more than that and you can't do it period. The point of my post there wasn't to be serious. The original post quoted part of the article that stated this charge is bad for people that share their steam accounts for multiple people in the same house. My reply was that I don't think people share the same login but instead just use family share if you have multiple gamers in the same house. I then had somebody reply somehow reading my post to have been saying that I believe people do share the same single account however doing so will get your account removed. I was actually arguing the exact opposite of what the person took my post to be saying. So i think made a smart ass post trying to see if i could get the person to realize that family sharing and account sharing are two different things.

The system has it built in to prevent somebody from abusing the system so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

619 reviews on steam, 488 are positive :(

From reading some reviews

Apparently, the story is decent and quite a few people like playing a very hardcore survival game.
The crafting and weapon customization is pretty good.

The game balance is hit or miss.

But I think most people can agree that it didn't need to be part of the MGS franchise.
The $10 for a save slot on a US$40...

Konami's other recent releases
Bomberman R: Massive cash grab by charging $60 on content that should barely be asking for $15
Winning Eleven 2018: Also riddled with micro-transactions on a full price game

AFAIK, konami hasn't quite reached shitter levels of game production quality just yet, but it sure smells like they are going to go bankrupt with all this poor quality and high prices.
