CS:GO Weapon Skin Sells For $61,000

It does not say if the guy who sold it is a pro or streamer, Both?

Quite a few of those guys have that much money to burn and then some.

Sheesh, 61k could pay off my house and both vehicles.

For that, the buyer could have picked up a few actual Accuracy International Arctic Warfare rifles and had them custom painted to match the skin. I guess good for them, having the spare cash to just go for it must be nice. Wasteful, but nice.

I'm not one to say things like, "that money could feed starving children," or whatever. I support people's right to spend their money how they wish, however ridiculous their purchases might be. That doesn't mean I won't judge them for it, though. How empty a life must a person have to drop this kind of money on such a thing? If I had that much throw-away cash, I'd be using it to do things which truly enriched my life and those I care about.

Imagine having so much money that you could wipe your ass with $1000 and not care in the slightest, because that is how much money this dude has. I cannot fathom having that much money.

I think even if I had millions of dollars, I’d still feel not right dropping that much money on something so dumb. I feel bad when I tell my wife I’m dropping money on another ssd or pc part.

I will also point out that a lot of community servers were a cancer on gaming. Corrupt admins banning people who are better then them, whack rules, etc... Gaming as a whole had to have a refuge from that where good players could go and play hard without worrying that they would be banned for accusations of cheating, they needed a consistent user experience that admins at community servers were screwing up. For a lot of community servers it was more about the power trip the admins had than actually trying to make a good place to play, it was all about the admin trying to get as many servers playing the game with the rules they wanted and being able to help out their friends etc... I was a player who tended to play at a higher level in many games and I can not even begin to describe how mistreated I was by supposedly reputable server admins over the years. I think in one game I am banned from about 80% of the populated servers. The funny thing is in game I am very quiet, I largely just play, people accuse me of cheating I say no once and then keep playing. So I was never the type to just come in trolling and pissing people off. The funny thing is so many times if I played on a smurf account I would be banned for cheating and if I played on my main some admins would be kissing my ass defending me against accusations. All it did was point to how admins were not banning based on evidence they were banning based on emotion and power and control. People don't want to play in community servers because the community servers were really only great for a select group of people.

Ah yes, a mention of community-run servers again brings out the "all server admins are on a power trip/I'm so good 80% of the world thinks I'm hacking" post from Rudy.

Much more fun for every game to be played on soulless, completely unmoderated official servers with a completely random group each round.

It's often sponsors who buy stuff like that for their team members just to ring up some attention and controversy. And then there's always that oddball with too much money and nothing better to do.

I mean, we used to make skins and levels for fucking FREE!.. Now they are 60k LMFAO. Guess its true, a moron and his money will soon

I never said all admins were bad, you said that, but it says a lot when people end up preferring to play on " soulless, completely unmoderated official servers with a completely random group each round" than community servers.
I think CSGO has the best format, allow custom servers but warn people about them, meanwhile keep a set of official servers for those that prefer the consistency of rules.

There seems to be a lot less interesting/custom servers out there. I miss that.
