I get random friend invites because of my steam ID.... every time I log in there are 6-7 new invites. Annoying.

Is there any way to merge accounts? I would be interesting in the games in the account, but don't necessarily want a new account.

Yeah, there is. You can use family sharing and all the games from both accounts (could be up to 5 as I recall) will be in one account.
