Anyone recognize these game titles? Friend of mine has a storage unit and some guy didn't want these game any longer so my friend gave them to me. PC olddddd games. The one I'm most interested in is battlefield 1942 & unreal & doom which I believe came out around the same time as call of duty 1 did, 2003.

I used to love rise of nations, awesome games, may need to dust them off one of these days.

Hmm I think Doom 3 is DRM-Free and so is Unreal 2 and I think Quake Arena. IIRC Black and White 2 is SecuROM. Not sure about the rest. The ones with DRM might give you issues or still be dongled to the CD/DVD disc if they install properly.

shoot think I still have my windows 1.0 disks around here somewhere.. sigh Im olddddddd

Nice collection, brings up memories. Out of your collection, I used to play GTA3 and Rise of Nations. Loved Rise of Nations, the way you progress through the ages and upgrade with technology.

Ah yes the good old days of feeding the game gods your lot of floppy disks and hoping all of the disks read correctly.

I had Strike Commander on floppy and it was like 10 disks. It never failed, disk 7-9 would always fail to read at least once during install, forcing you to start over again.
Better than seeing your 32 floppy disk Windows install nut-up on disk 28...like it would.

that keyboard looks about as old as some of those games...
That keyboard is practically new Lulz.

This keyboard now lulz.
Dirty.

I pulled all keycaps, cleaned them and cleaned the body of the kboard.

IBM 1986 Model M Buckling Spring Mechanical kboard, my daily driver since 2013, I think it was put into my hands.

Edit:
Ahha yea yea, I just found that F5 was in the wrong place as F7 keycap was missing when I got the kboard. FIXED!

You have some gems there. GTA3 was the first 3D GTA to come out. It pretty much set the standard for sandbox games. Halo: Combat Evolved was an outstanding game when it came out, and PC was definitely the best way to play it. BF1942 is legendary in its own right and you could still have a lot of fun with that. There is a mod that adds modern weapons and vehicles to the game that gives it a lot of replay ability.

My concern is if there are servers to play other members and if they're still up and running. I know COD1 is slowly dieing off, one main server MM went offline and it was most popular server there. CODWAW seems to be where its at atm for me. LOTS of players and great servers.

These came with it too. I also personally own Wolfenstein 3d, rtcw, but its at a family members house.

I never did like that version of Doom. You basically saw everything it had to offer in the first hour. Plus, I never liked how everything looked like a weird Simon Bisley clay figurine with excessive shading.
Q3A was an all time classic. Half-Life (obviously), too.
Unreal 2 got a bad rap at the time, but I didn't hate it.

I honestly didn't know GTA3 came out on the PC. How is/was it?

This was actually the first game I purchased digitally on Steam back in 2005.
