Player unknown Battlegrounds

btw can someone maybe explain to me, I've seent his a number of times when watching the deathcam that some guy kills me but his aim is meters behind me yet he still hits me, is this latency or some cheat?

No that is just latency. Cheats are like his crosshair following you perfectly while you are behind cover, his crosshair instantly snapping to multiple peoples heads at distance and one-shotting them. Etc..

The servers tick rate is a bit on the low side so you have moved away from where they are shooting but the server thinks you are still there. This can happen when spectating your team as well. Funky way things work right now.

Death cams / spectating are just super janky.

I had to report one person thus far. I honestly don't care but when I look at my death cam and I am completely camouflaged and he snapshot snipered me with one scope, no one does that. You have to at least find me first - I was laying on the ground and covered up pretty well. You maybe could've seen my backpack if you were standing. He was on the ground as well so I had to report it.

I mean, the person today who got me was legit. It was down to 4 and I was caught between 2 and thought I cleared out one side....my bad and he had a good clean shot.

if you use very low view distance, grass doesn't show past a certain distance, and bushes don't have as much cover. death cam will use your graphic settings.

Finally ran across my first (for sure) cheaters yesterday. First one grabbed a pistol from about 100 yards away, fired straight into the air, and killed my friend with all headshots. Second one just hip fired and killed me with all headshots from 200m with a m416. I thought it was a bit strange that he was able to do a quick peak and just instantly kill me from that range, and the kill cam confirmed the shenanigans that happened. Friend's kill cam showed the same thing happening to him.

My buddy had the best cheater. On the old map, NE side of Island. Buddy was on the south side of the mountain there inside a building and got headshotted 3 times in succession. Death cam showed the cheater on the Northern shore on the other side of the mountain killing people through said mountain. He killed 6 people in the 10 seconds deathcam video hah!

Why would players from oversea's intentionally want to play on NA servers? As a player, don't you want to play on the server with the lowest ping? I guess it's probably not a good idea to simply region lock but I hope the latency fix will block people playing that are lagging too much.

Another comment I've seen a lot is about the voice barriers. If you are playing a duo or squad game, you should be able to set language preferences. What's the point of playing if you can't VC?

It appears that the test servers have new ping locks, around 190ms. That could potentially cut down a lot of the china connections to NA and therefore most of the cheating.

I don't think so. I pinged www.chinabyte.com which is located in Beijing and it was 88ms. im in florida.

I live in virginia. 88ms is better than what I get playing on a West coast server. I think the actual ping would be at least 250 for a China to East coast server. Maybe sub 190 for a China to West coast though. Should be a 150 limit.

Come on ping locks come into live game! I'm really getting sick of the bad net code and overseas players killing me when im 4+ steps around a corner. Thanks client side hit detection!

Man am I the only one crashing A LOT lately? With my overclock settings I crash in no other games. So I lowered all of my overclocks and PUBG still crashes just as much.

did ping locks make it into the live build? its not in the patch notes so I'm assuming no.

I tend to crash on the first game I try to load, if I close it via taskmanager I can start it again and works fine.

Jesus christ when they do a patch they just kick you from the server without warning? GG end circle. Totally incompetent devs.

I like the new "feature" with this latest patch where they're divided up the plane 50/50 and you can't see the people dropping out of the second plane or their chutes, so you end up with "surprise" guests when you think you landed alone. Really makes the game much more dynamic :\

That being said, the number of deaths to cheaters has vastly dropped down so I can't complain too much.

theres two planes now? wtf how did i miss that tonight?

There isn't really two planes, its just instanced for the people in it. I've read that there can be as many as 3, but they're supposed to drop everyone into the same "map" instance. It seems like its not syncing up until the last guy drops though so sometimes other players are landing around you and you don't see them or their chute until they're on the ground.

I actually like that. Keeps you on your toes. I had 4 frying pan kills last night due to surprise motherfuckers and not finding a gun right away.

Holy heck really? I thought I was going crazy lol.

Well the patch today officially made me uninstall. Now players are completely invisible the whole game, I've just been killed by people I can't even see in the replay 3 times in a row. Fuck this game, fuck these shitty devs, I'm out.

the other day I wanted to watch my death cam but was not allowed due to the player having odd movement according to the game interface. Reported him for cheating as a result.

Ugh cheating is almost worse than ever and the disconnects and stability is in the toilet. They really need to delete 1.0 and go back to pre release with nice weather effects and a mostly functional game that was fun.

oh please no. did you forget about pre 1.0 beginning game lag, fog and rain maps that 50% of the people left, and fps that wouldn't go above 100? I havn't had a crash or disconnect since 1.0 and have yet to see a cheater. first game tonight was a win too.

Yes, I loved the fog maps and really wish they would bring it and the rain back, I had about 90 FPS solid on max settings in the fog rain and regular which was playable. People who liked to do nothing but snipe quit the fog maps because they could not do just that. Rain was great because it changed the dynamics in other ways with distorted sound of cars, guns and footsteps. Playing all sun all the time is not as fun as random weather. Some people didnt like them and moved on okay. Others loved them and had some really amazing rounds where sniper rifles are very viable but not as easy to use at 50 feet.

Yes some of the pre 1.0 versions had some crappy lag. I even posted about it in this thread with a video because it was so bad bad. However that was mostly resolved prior to launch and I still run into a few bits of crappy lag off and on. My FPS was above 100 for most of the round just prior to 1.0 and a few months before. The version just prior to launch I was usually at 120 FPS and never below 65 / 75 when in a full of players pre-loading area.

Pre-release those issues were understandable to a degree. When they went 1.0 they should have left the broken patches and major issues behind. Look at the latest patch yesterday. Launched and within the hour another patch fixing the fact that 75% of the time you couldnt load a server but a dark cave till you time out. Almost as if they are not doing any QA or testing of the patch. Some other driver incompatibilities were introduced where it can freeze on the loading screen before the pre-game staging area, happening to a number of players. Others semi load but get stuck half way in the ground as their game crashes out.

The tick rate seems worse too. Tonight I shot 3 shots from an M24, two hit, and one was a horrible shot. One chest blowing away their L1 vest and one neck high / chest. They were not downed but had plenty of time to drop me in 3 shots even though I had a fresh L3 helmet and L2 vest and full health. About 2x scope distance. My team who was spectating as I was the last alive only saw 1 shot and then me staring down the sight.

I am extremely jealous of your luck never having seen a cheater. Had about 3 of the 5 games tonight ended by folks able to 2 shot an L2 helmet with a pistol from 4x scope distance. Think north side of water treatment on the side railing of the shack from the south side wall, two shots perfect hits and downed with a regular pistol. Pre 1.0 my group and I were seeing 1 to 2 wins per week, since 1.0 we have had 4 total wins. There are a lot of good players and I have had some of the most fun rounds I did not win but there are way to many instances of ridiculous full auto jump shots landing all of their shots and other craziness going on still.

1.0 added a lot of good but it also removed a lot of what made it very fun and stable overall introducing a lot of issues that are surprising for a "released" game.

iirc the fog and other weather effect are supposed to make a comeback, they just left them out for now so all players could get to know the maps now that they are officialy released b4 readding them.

41 hours in and my conclusion is I am not built for this type of game. Or kids today are just way superior. Or I don't know. I die a lot. Not looking to improve or anything. I just play Quake 2 during the lobby to plane sequence.

Everybody die a lot and chicken dinners are rare. That is the beauty of the game. When you win it is SUPER cool :)

I'd like to see fog and rain done in a dynamic way, I don't want to hear rain for a 40 minute game. fortnite has a dynamic night/day cycle and uses the same engine so not sure why pubg is lacking in dynamics. the fog map made the game really boring cause you can't see people past what 40 yards? the mid game is already boring enough, you put fog in and almost the entire game is boring. I was averaging 5 crashes a night pre 1.0, I got frustrated and cut my playtime down to almost nothing because of it, I'd uninstall if the game went back.

what server and person perspective do you see the cheaters on, and what times? I play on na, fpp. 9-11pm est

pre 1.0 I think I was getting 70-90 fps. now I get 120-144. which makes a big difference on a 144hz monitor.

Here are a couple of PUBG screenshots that I forgot to post.

Winning a game with a single kill and a single hitpoint.

Winning a game with a firing squad. Buddy got the screenshot, I'm on the left of him. Our 4th guy was just derping out in the field and stirred up the last guy, and we mowed him down. We didn't realize that we had made a firing squad till after the fact, we got a good giggle out of it.

Damn, I oughta jump back in.

I've switched over to BF4 lately just for the instant gratification- and somehow I can actually hit other players.

Yeah I'd read that but I am not sure why they would pull them from the old map where they already existed unless its the way the maps pull the weather information. But by that token the old map has day and evening modes I believe still and the new only has high noon. /Shrug. I thought I read somewhere they were working on a night mode which should be awesome if true.

By the end of the pre launch I thought fog was more dynamic, I could have sworn it would get thicker and lighter in areas. Could have been my brain wigging out lol but I 100% agree, rolling fog would be amazing. Same with the rain, always rolling thunder but then intense areas, drizzle areas and have it roll through. With the fog I enjoyed the lack of visibility as one really had to use sound. I won a round once in the fog only through hearing someone crawling up a hill in front of me so I knew where they were and was ready for their attack. Without that I would have been looking the wrong way and died. I wholly get how it can be boring, I just liked how it was a very different type of game play interspersed with the rain and two sunny modes.

I've seen it in fortnight and I think its cool but it moves through awfully fast (at least last time I checked which admittedly was a while ago). Since PUBG has tried for more "realism" I would rather the weather not come and go in a 10 minute cycle then be sunny again but preferences :)

Being fair I play third person the most where the most cheaters are. I play this mode more because the game seems to function more smoothly in this mode. I like first person but its not... as well refined or smooth of an experience yet. Much better than when implemented but not quite there yet for my liking. I think I've only encountered one in first person but it was an iffy one so not sure. I am usually getting on around 9:30 or so until 1pm CST. We change servers depending on how bad it is so we usually rotate between NA, EU, SA, and Asia.

On the last few builds before launch I had no crashes, some rubber banding and an easy 120 FPS with about 90 to 100 average. Post launch yeah I'm getting 120 average peaking 140 to 150. Though my monitors are older and only 60hz so with your newer screen yeah big difference.

I highly suggest getting a 144hz or higher monitor, you will be pleased. I got the dell s2716dg about 8 months ago. if you watch dell outlet you can get one for $370 after using retailmenot.com coupons.

here in florida, 10 minute rain/sunny cycles are real, lol.
