astronomical GPU prices?

kirbyrj I expect nothing less. Cheers :)

KickAssCop 5 1070 / 1070 Ti rigs spread over 4 4U cases + my workstation.

The 4U builds all basically look like this:

... and my workstation is a Corsair 750D Airflow Ed. that i am in the process of modding to handle Mini-style ITX cards:

Very nice ... what kind of monthly premium you pulling these days? I am guess with todays price your probably pulling about $8 per card per day? Fair?

:D

What you guys need to be hoping for is that mining algorithms get so tough that GPUs become useless when mining them.

Then you'll see the market flood with used GPUs and prices will come way down, but cryptocurrency will still be profitable in other ways.

Quite the opposite is the altcoins target. Disable ASIC mining by design, allow household GPU's and hopefully soon more CPU's to do mining to fight the monopolies just forming up on anything an AntMiner can mine.

By the time you are going to see tens of thousands of Ti's flooding ebay no gamer wants them anymore, unless SLI revives or mor egames support mGPU in DX12 or Vulkan.

Thank god I can just buy mine though distribution. I pay slightly below MSRP still.

huh? That is retarded as F... for 80K you could get 3 Baikal Big Bs and each one turns $8k/month

I don't understand this at all

How are these guys pulling in 8k a month? Are they selling their coins? I thought it was best to hold on to them

W/e, this whole thing is bull shit. I have to overpay for a card because of this all this mining bull shit. I overpaid at the end of 2013, not going to do that again. f**k that,

Well I finally snagged two cards for normal prices, picked up the 8GB blower RX580 from my friend for $200 and lifted a 3GB PNY 1060 dual fan thing from craigslist for $120. Its like christmas all over to pay normal GPU prices.

They need to put a block on whatever these cards use so they can't be used for mining.

Yeah that would be sweet, but AMD/Nvidia would never do. they don't care about miners, they are selling chips faster than they can make them at this point. It just sucks for the legit gamers these days.

I can't wait till the coin markets all bomb and the FS/Trade is completely flooded with cards people are desperate to get rid of because their precious coins aren't worth a penny anymore tee hehehehe, one can only dream.

Someone needs to create a virus to take out the Crypto industry, make it like wannacry but work like meltdown or spectre.

I was just perusing craigslist and holy carp, the outrageous pricing is all over clist already.

Yep, seeing 1080ti's on CL for $1200+ already. 580's for $500.
Yep. Saw three 1080ti at my local Microcenter yesterday at $800 each. Was real tempted to try and sell two at $1,200 each to pay for the third.

Makes me wish I had kept the two I had, I sold them at like $600 each last year.

Miners need to be kicked in the balls. It's extremely annoying that I can't get a reasonably priced Vega 64 to drive my Freesync 34" ultrawide screen.

Well, screw it. Thought I'd join in the fun, so I downloaded NiceHash and I'm up and mining.

Says I should be making ~7 bucks a day with the standard settings. I suppose there should be nothing to worry about; I never see more than 65c at 100% load using water. I live in the frigid Northeast so I figure I'll offset my gas bill a bit with the added heat.

Anyone have any trouble cashing BTC into USD? How often do you guys cash out and how do you do it? Thanks.

NukeDukem Set up a Coinbase account. You can transfer your NH internal wallet earnings over free of fees to your CB and cash out from there.

Now that some of the AMD 580 and Vega 56 cards are starting to show up again, it will be interesting to see if that changes the selling price on the 1080Ti
The Vega 56 ones seem to mine about the same rate for many things as the 1080Ti at a lower cost (Monero seems to be way better on the AMD)

simply not true in practice.

the NVida cards have a broader range of profitability among many different coins (more options). I owned Vegas and 1080TIs --

I sold my Vegas.

Geez. I don't get where Microcenter is making those prices. Just seeing what sticks I guess.

Saw MSI 1080ti gaming Trio for $800 at my local store two days ago. Both ASUS ROG strix and MSI Armor 1080 were on sale $549. ASUS 1050 2gb mini were $125. All of which were in stock.

Vega, no. RX 570 and 580, yes. Cannot remember prices. Was there for the WD blues.
All the team green prices I quoted above are from the fliers I picked up, with exception of the 1080ti.

Sign up for Coinbase and transfer from Nicehash to Coinbase (using the feature built into the nicehash website).

You can cash out of Coinbase to a regular bank account.

We just listed 10 of the GTX 1080Ti cards on eBay for $1100 each and they all sold in one evening.

I'm thinking based on selling prices, I could probably consider selling my GTX 1080Ti, GTX 1080 and GTX 1060 and just buy one of the Titan V cards for better hashrates in one single card for just a bit more cost.

That is just nuts.. lol.
