Police in Munich, Germany are using data from a refugee's Apple iPhone 6S in a murder and rape trial. Police hired a company that broke into the iPhone and are using details from the stock installed and turned on health data application that show the man doing a "stair workout," when allegedly the man was in middle of the act. Police Chief Peter Egetemaier said (autostart video) it is the first time that "correlated health and geo-data," have been used in a prosecution.

The accused - Hussein K - has admitted his guilt but disputed some details. Data suggesting the suspect was climbing stairs could correlate to him dragging his victim down a riverbank and climbing back up, police said. As well as locating Hussein's movements, the phone also suggested periods of more strenuous activity, including two peaks, which the app put down to him "climbing stairs".

And every one is like I don't want an Alexa in there home lol. Better go back to using pay phones also , if you can find one that is.

Time to go for an enthusiastic walk through the wood in Munich, at midnight - wearing an Apple Watch.

Yep. I can't even recall the last time I seen a pay phone. The ones in hospitals have been even ripped out. The booths are there with holes in the wall where the phone use to be mounted.

Ah yes. The "teenage refugee", who was 33 years old, pushed a woman to her death in Greece, before fleeing to Germany where his raped a 19 year old "migrant aid volunteer", then dragged her to a river and held her head underwater until she drowned. Greece never bothered issuing an international arrest warrant after he killed the Greek woman.

Germany went from being the “master race” to “spread eagle” welcome all the Islamic migrants.

Some may call it divine retribution for their warmongering or a non-believer might say they just feel bad and are trying to make things right.

iOS has something called the health app. The health app monitors your steps and distance and is connected to some fancy widgets from within your phone. Plus there's all those nifty GPS tracking functions from within.

"the phone also suggested periods of more strenuous activity, including two peaks, which the app put down to him "climbing stairs"."

To be fair, it probably doesn't have "dragging a body down the riverbank" in its database of activities.

It does now!

First rule of crime: don't bring your phone!
The Health data is a new twist. The app only counts stairs and has no clue what you might be carrying, so not sure how useful that actually is. But, the geolocation data could be incriminating. Hard to prove how your phone was at a crime scene and you were not.

So they analyzed this and found data the says he was on stairs. I hope it isn't more junk science (won't matter in the case) that convicts actually innocent people like say all that hair analysis the FBI got so many to buy into (and at least admitted it was junk later).

Well, an arrest warrant would be racist.

It is the fact that the geolocation shows the phone on site around the time of the crime and the person doing something strenuous at the time. While it doesn't prove anything it does give one more piece of evidence to help support a case.

im sure they probably have dna evidence as well but extra evidence that helps convict a killer, like his movements and activities is good in my book. at least they managed to get into his iPhone as well.

All Americans should be ripped and swole, considering we are all dragging a dead body around 24/7-365. Congress is useless.
