Two updates available, I’m pasting directly from Asus website. Does the BIOS+ Microcode update 1001 include the ME update? I’m running Linux and cannot run Windows executable for ME.

I noticed the same update for my Asus mobo. I'm contemplating if I should update or not.
It should have the Spectre and Meltdown update, but does a normal PC user need to worry about those bugs?

Yes, if you want to just give me your info now then no need to update. Don't turn this into the non vaccination issue

I browsed a few Asus boards and many had updates, not very happy with gigabyte bios in general

See? That's what I'm questioning. How can you hack into my system if don't know my info?
Of course if there might be a really smart hacker who can cook up a code to search the systems without the patch.
Then there are millions or even billions of old PCs out there the system manufacturers and mobo makers had already stopped supporting them long time ago. They will never get the bio update for these bugs.

What are you afraid of loosing by updating? 5fps in a game? Seems like a no brainier

I think I'm going to skip the patch for now, I'm worried it may bork my Linux, Asus officially does NOT support Linux.

re. my OP, does the BIOS+Microcode update include the ME update?
