Tech Report is showing off that NZXT is now dressing up its own motherboard line that will give you that awesome Lego look that you were always going for. It looks like all this "pretty" shrouding will do nothing more than insulate your motherboard from cooling. And just for the record, stepping on a motherboard is just as, if not more painful, than stepping on a Lego. I am in no way suggesting your put a NZXT manufactured motherboard in your computer. I am not sure if these are actually NZXT in-house designs, which I would think these would not be, but who knows. Thanks cageymaru.

Check out the pics.

As for the board's more practical functions, they resemble those of a typical high-end Z370 motherboard.

Resemble....

ASUS got away with thermal armor for their TUF series MBs for some reason on the Z370 series I chated with they and asked why they said the Mosfets and Chokes were still TUF though but I went with ASROCK instead. The Thermal armor would add alot of weight to the board the Metal backplate and the Armor just added alot of weight.

Bet that thing will out-RGB any other motherboard on the market.

"The Last Motherboard You will Ever Want or Need" sounds like one of those emachine stickers...

I admit I like the look, but heat issues aside, I don't do ECS.

Stickers to let you know how brilliant and smart you are every time you turn on your enigma machine: Windows Me o_O, Celeron :cautious:, Intel Graphics , a big arrow pointing to front ports on the bottom so you have to really reach just incase you had no clue :woot:. Wow they made such great solutions that they no longer have to build any new designs or offer new computers:

:ROFLMAO:

As for the NXZT motherboard, , , WTF??? I guess you can hide all the shitty components underneath the toy plastic colored shield, I wonder if that plastic is flammable? I do believe Asus was ceramic.

Looks like they will be bespoke. I mean, not everything on the motherboard needs airflow or other types of cooling. So long as the power phases and PCH are being adequately cooled. The full covers would definitely not be for me. I'm more a fan of different PCB colors like black and blue. I like seeing a naked motherboard through my case window.
nzxt makes motherboards? I thought they just made aio coolers.
They do now. They also make good cases, in my opinion

They have one motherboard, and it looks pretty damn funky (https://www.nzxt.com/products/n7-z370-matte-white).

NZXT? Huh...thought they just made cheap (albeit still decent) cases.

Stickers add at least a Terraquad of GigaRAM to your CPU. It's when I put stickers on my car that adds the more HorsePowers.

Gamer's Nexus believes that these are made by ECS to NZXT's specifications. The last time I used an ECS board it was a cheapo unit pulled out of an OEM machine that had a Duron CPU soldered to the board. Surprisingly the board lasted quite a while.

I love the look, and it features no inbuilt RGB, which is a shame... but in turn does not have any brightly coloured plastic trim, which is awesome. Designers finally getting rid of the juvenile flashy trim is why I like RGB in the first place, more designers just make boards that can match any RGB colour.

So, a bad copy of Asus Sabertooth series, and much worse, Asus TUF (yes, those high-end before Z370 downgrade) at least have those tiny fans to provide airflow to inside the "armor".

Looking forward to the [H] review on this one! I imagine you'll be pairing this motherboard up with a NZXT H700i so Dan_D can adequately review the HUE+ (or whatever it's called) RGB+fan controller sync between the two.

It'd be great to upload a video of this RGB craziness in action on [H]tv!

Every single one of these I've ever worked on had a busted USB port up front; as most people would forget a device was plugged into it, and either trip on the cord, or think the door could be closed...

I do not see us spending resources on this. :)

LOL - The only business reasons for getting into this market for NZXT are:

1) Opportunistic, so they can capture the interest of their existing clients (marketing geniuses huh?) and the hype of their fancy coolers and turn it into cash. But do they really know that their clients are non-informed PC users / builders that would buy such a product? Because I see not a single reason for its existence.

2) They have a genuine interest and investment intention / capability to enter the motherboard business (who is kidding who here) and this is the first step into establishing their presence. What are the barriers to entry in this industry though? You know the answer.....and one only has to check the smallest player in the market (whoever it is) to see how far away they are from such an endeavor.

Bonus is that its old enough that it might not be affected by Spectre...

I think that all CPUs that perform speculative execution in the pipeline are affected, which means that all CPUs from Intel dating back to the Pentium Pro in 1995 are affected. If you use a 486 or Pentium/Pentium MMX, you should be OK.

It's no surprise NZXT rebrands motherboards.

They don't make their liquid coolers either. Those are made by Asetek.

The only thing they make themselves is their cases, and those are lost in a sea of mid-priced brands. They're better than Coolermaster and Thermaltake, but those are some low bars to hop over.

Big thanks for the memories. Here are a few that I have saved when I came across them:

..We now return you back to your regularly scheduled broadcast......

...and we thought the skyrocketing GPU prices were ridiculous. ;)
Welp, I'm glad that I just upgraded my Compaq Portable II from 1986 with a SSD, 80827 FPU, and 10Base-T NIC - who new we would be using 30+ year old tech in 2018?! :D

Actually, it would be really fun to see these Z370 motherboards being used in 2048, but I doubt they will hold up that long.

It's probably just to keep a larger share from the suckers they get on https://www.nzxt.com/bldnow
