My Computer crash last year and I guess I have to re-install a litecoin wallet.

I haven't been into cryptro for years but I do beleive there is a way to recover my wallet?

I used to have an account at coinotron but I think they removed it (not really sure). However I do still have a folder I created with a litecoin wallet backup in an encrypted rar file that has some kinda hash code for coinotron and main wallets in a file so I am hoping this is what I need to recover my wallet?

Now if I could just remember what to do with them.

I started re-syncing a new wallet what do I do after that?

You need your secret key. You should have printed it out and put it in a safe place. If you didn't do that, I think you're SOL.

I ended up finding a backup of my system that was taken via WSE right after correcting a critical error that corrupted all of my backups (which I found out had happened after my mining PC had crashed due to a bad windows update). it was taken after I re-installed windows via recovery on the PC it was backing up. Found a copy of my old wallet in windows.old on the backup server (It was missing on the mining machine for some reason).

I have 12 litecoins in my wallet. Do I need to exchange them for bitcoins before I can cash them out?

Would this be a good time to do that or should I wait a bit longer to see if I can get .02 bitcoins per litecoin?

I don't mine any anymore because power is too expensive here (and thus not work the risk), 55 cents per kWh...

You save that page locally and load it on a computer not connected to the internet, use the github link.
That worked but I guess I only backed up the Public Key... I was shocked I had done this... (WTF lol).

No, you don't need to switch to BTC to cash out. Send your LTC to gdax, don't take liquidity and you don't have fees. From there you can pull your usd to coinbase to withdrawal.

I don't understand, put my coins in the exchange and don't take what? I still have to create a coinbase account too?

Taking liquidity means you dump into the bid. If you put a limit order at the ask and it fills, you aren't taking liquidity and you don't pay the 25bps of fees. Once you create a coinbase account, that account is good for gdax.

Ahh ok, gotcha thanks! Looks like if you create a gdax account it will work for coinbase. Man they want pictures of you and everything... I think I'll sell if / when it goes back up. Might kick myself in the future but it's just as likely I would be patting myself on the back I think. At least I'm not trading the few coins I have for pizzas :)

That is if I can get GDAX to even accept my photos it keeps rejecting them :( When I take the pictures of drivers license it's always too big?

When I set up my Coinbase account, their website rejected the pictures EVERY time. However, many had suggested (even Coinbase) using the mobile app. Sure enough it went through easy. You may want to go that route if you are still haven't trouble.

Yea more googling lead me to the same conclusion. I swear every step of this process has been a hiccup though, now im afraid to actually use the site because I don't want to F up my taxes.
