The United States Security and Exchange Commission says that cryptocurrency investors should exercise caution when investing in those, and went on further to say that many cryptocurrency offerings did not follow state or federal laws. But don't worry, if you get ripped off, it is highly unlikely that the SEC can do anything to recover your lost investment.

“The SEC and state securities regulators are pursuing violations, but we again caution you that, if you lose money, there is a substantial risk that our efforts will not result in a recovery of your investment,” the officials said.

Reuters is also reporting that Israel is looking to ban cryptocurrencies from its Tel Aviv Stock Exchange altogether.

The regulator has proposed an amendment to exchange rules that would prohibit it from listing shares issued by companies that mainly invest in, own or mine cryptocurrencies. Such companies also would not be allowed in the exchange’s indexes, and if they already trade on the exchange they would be delisted.

The Security Exchange Commission has the gallantry to put out a warning about cryptocurrencies? Why do we even have a SEC, their absolutely worthless. All market segments are manipulated and the SEC does nothing. What a bunch of idiots.
 
Making a joke here, but I think this is accurate. Plus, if you lose money, you'll have no proof you ever lost that investment, so you can't claim the loss on your tax return. However, if the SEC finds out that you profited, they will report you to the IRS and you'll owe taxes on it.
 
I anxiously await our return to bartering with beads and bottles of fire-water.......
 
There are losses incurred that do not get reported on tax returns :ninja:

This. Hey Kyle, how about posting some articles about the humanitarian efforts associates with Stellar (xlm) or the cool things that are being done with VeChain (ven)?

If only there was a way to share these numerous positive stories with the people that write the news page. One day our communication abilities will reach there.
 
You guys are a bunch of emos... I learned alot about crypto on the news page of hardocp... a couple articles are posted and people soil themselves. Lets stay misinformed instead lol da fook.

I worry that too many dum dums are jumping in for "Muh free money!" and will put all their pennies in, lose their shirt gambling on penny alts, then lead to draconian government regulation.

I wonder how long till the pres sends in troops to squelch the whiskey rebellion.

No kidding.

The problem, if you wish to call it that, is people see the slick interface on GDAX and think it's just another market. Very few normies realize they are trading in the wild west...

it's 1928 and idiots see mainstream media reporting btc hitting record highs, and all they need to do is drop Junior's college money into Crypto and retire in a few months.
