Power strip question. Ever

Are you blind or what? I dont talk about ups,but this power strip only.

OP did you even read the reviews, someone stated it caught on fire. lol

You need to use a Surge Protector with high
Joules rating...with that being said APC is well regarded brand...Many people here like to be able to save there important work with a ups during power failures...if that doesn't matter to you then just get the best surge protection. Cheap power strips are not a super good idea.;)

that is a UPS, aka Battery Backup

I have one for each of my systems,
The pic on the left has my Plex Media Server on it as well,

If you are spending all that money on high end hardware you shouldn't skimp on the power side. A couple hundred bucks could really save your multi-thousand dollar investment, especially if you ever experience black or brownouts.

Way to go. Come into a forum asking a question. Someone gives you an answer you don't understand. And instead of asking for clarification, you attack THE SITE OWNER.

Ja pierdolę?

What caught on fire? I see that this forum is not serious.

They're serious when you're serious.

Basically the response was meant to say that, if you're looking for both hardware AND data protection, a UPS is a better buy than some cheap extension cord.

No i dont skip on power side. I have psu corsair 750i. So now i am asking about what power cord to buy.

Buy a SURGE protector, not a POWER STRIP is what they are saying, are you daft? we arent taking you seriously because you have $1000+ in hardware and you want to essentially risk frying it all with one fucking power ripple.

use the power cord that came with the psu and buy a UPS to plug it in to so it gets clean stable power.

like i said i spend all cash for new parts. And i dont have cash even for new sound speakers heh

Don't waste you money.
That power strip (PLN 29.00 - $8.33 US) , is really just 5 unprotected outlets. It offers some protection, but very little.

It only absorbs 175 joules.
You need something that absorbs 600-700 joules minimum.

I get this info. So its a problem when 175 joules on power cord?

Dont listen to these people.....just direct wire that setup into the local power grid. Power surges are just made up fariy tells to get people to waste many!!!!

I'm going to assume you're making a joke. Last September 13th we had a lightning storm here in Las Vegas, where in my neighborhood we have underground power lines. A nearby lightning strike surge took out the circuit board in my furnace, the circuit board in my garage door opener, and my cable modem and router since the coax cable was not connected to my surge protector. Fortunately I don't have cable connected to my TV so I didn't lose that. Total damage $2,000 (plus a $20 light dimmer). So this is why I recommend a surge protector that includes cable and data lines.

You gotta get that sarcasm meter repaired, sounds like it shorted out on your power strip.

Just get a Tripplite ISOBAR6 and you'll be fine. Or APC Surgearrest PT83. I sell these all the time to large businesses in bulk amounts for individual PCs and laptops. They are good surge protectors if you don't want to go UPS.

what lol? lol Are you retarded? This will be perfect cord.

More than that Using like a $20 Shop strip/Protector think was rated like 1500-2000 Joules. Quality May not be very Nice Inside, I don't know Haven't Checked. I probably have some better stuff with Suppression.

It's your brand new computer that you spent all your money on. I don't give two poops what you buy or what you plug it into. You did get some good advice here though, especially if you have any interest at all in protecting that brand new computer that just just spent all your money on and not seeing it turn into a pile of expensive useless trash at some point.

A good Strip is usually fine, while pretty minimal I looked at this one, some China .1 Xcap. and ceramics/tantlums.I definitely Have some Bigger and better Couplings. But that's pretty Standard. Cheap shit where it's molded into the plastic and can't get it out to change anything.....Like where this is kinda steering into suppression and conditioning. Carbon film too...I don't like that in power areas, seen too many of them drift and burn up or go open with age.

But Like I figured Pretty Standard, some of them really shitty strips, don't really have anything to them much.
