HTC and Motorola: We Don’t Slow Down Phones with Old Batteries Like Apple Does

I'm still on a Galaxy S5. On the stock ROM, even with a new battery the phone would crash and randomly shut off for no reason, even after recalibrating.

Rooted and threw on an AOSP Lollipop based rom and the crashing went away but battery life was still trash on the new battery. Figured it was just Lollipop itself at that point. Threw on Beanstalk (Marshmallow based custom rom) and I practically have a new phone again. I've been on the new battery for about a year or so now and it's still running strong. My Otterbox case looks like hell but the phone itself is still running fine.

We’ve reached new levels of ineptitude when people like you start claiming that failing old batteries equates planned obsolescence.

At least the Apple phones still work and don’t shut off at 40% as soon as any compute is required.

That level was reached when the likes of you blindly bought it.

Perfect example of apple dummies mentioned before.

I haven't bought anything beyond an iPhone SE because i'm not a fan of the larger, frankly, shittier design.

Nice try though.

HTC and Motorola don’t update phones so they spin it as “we don’t slow down” phones lol
